Hey everyone,

Looking for input on a warmer balaclava than the first lite one I have. It's awesome in bow season, but once rifle season rolls around, it gets really cold.

Doesn't necessarily have to be camo.
Thanks.
Thanks,

I have a Patagonia one, but feel it's a bit short in the neck

I wear a scuba-hooded AK base layer with the hood over my head and under my beanie.  No gaps. I made the change after using a traditional separate clava from Homeschool.  I kept finding it would ride up or pop out over the top of my jacket especially in the back at the hood.  Really annoying on a pow day

Airblaster terryclava. Doesn’t tuck into a pocket so well but it’s warm, breathes well, comfy, dries fast.

I dig blackstrap for something close to the skin when its cold and i need it. burton Burke XL is an every day item for me now. Fits over helmet, helps block wind, breaths enough that it doesn't torch on warmer days etc etc. solid investment.

Plus one for BlackStrap. They have an expedition balaclava for colder days. I ordered a regular and an expedition and they were promptly claimed by my wife & daughter. Last year's colours are on sale at Tactics btw.

@kriegs with the Burke hood over your helmet, doesn't that give you a massive head?

i have a couple under armour infrared hood/balaclava things. they're great and can be worn a few different wasy, but just like any other under armour item, they're too short. they ride up and roll at the bottom exposing the neck. same with their compression shirts; im not a tall guy by any means, but they always come untucked. wish they'd add like 2" to the bottom ofo the shirts and hoods...

Tried a few different ones, but pretty much always wearing the terryclava. Occasionally I’ll wear the coal one on cold days.. forget the name, maybe just the frena, but I think it’s acrylic outside with an inner fleece layer.
