I still prefer the same boards on our bunny hill, which is like a mini, lesser Midwest

Does the brand follow the market or does the market follow the brand?

Camber is king for some things. Also flat is king for some things and rocker is king for some things. And hybrid is the queen of all things.

Camber on a 300 ft vertical drop slope in the midwest is not king. Sometimes it can feel a lot like whittling a whistle with a machete.

Other than pow rocker is aids. On anything else you can do exactly the same things with camber and if you (not c.fuzzy you, everyone that complains about stuff like that) cant or it feels "twitchy" or whatever go learn how to use your edges properly like people have been doing since forever.

camber is still pretty fun on 300 vert hills. you should try riding local more and making the most of what’s at hand. snowboarding isn’t only to be had on big mountains.

All can be good and fun. You can try a shorter and softer cambered board on a smaller hill and pretend you’re a Yawgoon, or watch some Scotty Stevens edits and get on the FK bandwagon.

Bunch of camber only preferences up in here, which is cool. Also some proposed fixes to problems I don't have, but I believe y'all are trying to be helpful and so thank you for that.

My perspective was and is that there's not one best option for everyone. Though certainly camber can do whatever you want, (imo) so can the other options.

My personal preference is not camber for all situations. And yeah, maybe I just tend to choose stiff camber boards and would be better suited with a softer camber. But when it comes to throwing down my money, it's hard to pick a soft camber stick... I want an Optimistic or a Sickstick because they're more appealing. Maybe others can choose the perfect board for them based upon non-bias weighing of options based upon a set criteria which don't include terms like "expert" and meaningless aesthetics like " graphics", and don't perceive at all what pricepoint they're set at as an indicator of their quality. I do envy you that are able to do that.

As always, feel free to completely dismiss what I have to say. I'm well aware that inherent in my opinions are all sorts of personal bias and heuristics that will cause me to preference my way of looking at things over anothers, which may not be correct for you.

Edit: Also please forgive me if I come off defensive. Not in the most cheery goofy of moods this morning. it happens.

I certainly had not foreseen adding three nitro boards in one season, but it happened

This one is “used” but looks like it’s seen just maybe a couple of days on the snow. Barely any binding rash and almost no marks on the base that I can see. Funny thing is, a friend of mine has a sleeve tattoo very similar to the samurai base graphic, only more elaborate and with a geisha instead of a samurai but a very similar design overall. She’s half Japanese so it fits her well.

Rode my 157 today, such a rad board. First time riding slush on it, just charges through. Really got my switch back 3's on lock. Camber feels good after a bit of time on the Aether.

i want to love all profiles of boards, but on some of my boards (like the SJ and PH that are flat) i feel like something is missing. i started on camber, then jumped on the rocker train. had a sk8 nana that i rode for EVERYTHING for like 2 seasons (before i found the first EL), then got a flying-v that i've embarrassingly only ridden like 6 times in the years i've had it. i also have an old C2 t.rice that's brand new that i've never ridden cause it's buried in the closet and i forget about it every year until the end of the season. as soon as i drifted away from twins and rode my first tapered s-rocker it was game over. i have a K2 happy hour which is a raised, flat profile and the party platter is flat also, which are both rad, fun boards. maybe it's just burton's flat profile boards that i can't get into. it just seems to me that boards that are either camber or s-rocker are the most funnest. also could be the amount of beer i drink before riding...
