we're not too far then.  I'm in Seattle, but I try to get up to Whistler a few times.  I'm always jealous you guys have Grouse and Cypress literally right there.  Vancouver is probably the best city for snowboarding--two hills right there, Whistler and Baker short drives, access to interior BC, great local snowboarding culture and history... my wife and I always half-kid we're moving there.  And yea man so true; there's a relatively good number of us here in Seattle that have Gentem/Moss/Korua's but aside from people I know I don't see really any out in the wild

I think that Stu did an excellent job connecting a group of us through the shop (evo) and the demo days over the last couple of seasons. There started to be a little group of us riding together last season.

I was stoked to meet three young dudes a couple of times late in the year at Alpental who were all on Koruas. All three were UW students. It's not just us old dudes trying to do the "snowsurf" thing.

awesome!  I think I need to keep my eyes open more too.  If I'm riding alone I tend to keep to myself with my head down to avoid lifeline smalltalk.  But come to think of it, I saw at least two Orbit's at Stevens last year under some younger guys.

I just saw that tactics has a pre-order for a Mantaray Ltd 156 (international) a tiny bit wider than the regular 154 and possibly better stance options for ‘western’ riders?

love the stoke here.  a day or so passes and i'm way behind on the thread.  will avoid threadweaving and summarize with i hope to slide japanese boards somewhere in the northewest with you all this season and good on the shop in seattle for building this up.

that $740 board seems like a good move.  lowers (a bit) barriers to entry.

tangential, but is there a thread for some of the 'backyard' style guys that are springing up?  anyone tried it?  not something i remember from the past but the internet seems to allows some small players and I'm curious but cautious.

I am co-owner and board designer for a company called Fullbag. A few EZ members own or have demoed my boards. We are a small gig and our boards are made in small quantities by a reputable factory that does stuff for bigger well known brands.

You can find info about them in the following thread, and in a few others as well. If you have any questions, you can post them there.

my buddy owns a snowboard shop up in bellingham has began pressing up his own prototype boards. idk how far along he is with it as of late, but he had a crude board similar to the protos of the ME'r and SC'r on the Jones site in the shop back in mid-september.
