So, I've noticed a few people who have tried or owned their boards, so I might not be as lonely here as I think.

Might've been the mervin thread where I raved about the Aether. I still think after having ridden it in many kind of conditions, even some 20cm deep pow yesterday, that it's the best all around board under my feet, ever. The mag doesn't get in the way, it always grips even though you're not on your a game, rewards aggressive riding, has pop, feels locked in like a camber board, doesn't resemble any mervin c2/cx2 variant I've ridden, doesn't swivel until you're in pow and the buoyancy and easy pivoting kicks in. This board changed my preconceptions about the hybrid rocker profile.

So, was on the lookout for a softer camber board and got a deal on a 152 Niche Knew. A super fun jib oriented board with snap (ollies like a skateboard), but still somewhat stable and solid through heavy warm pow. Have only ridden two days on it, but a blast. Doesn't suck on deep turns either. Lightweight, so you just want to pop and spin off everything.

So, found out 19/20 stuff are not made at the mothership any longer! Shit shit. Well, I ordered a 18/19 156 Aether (have the 17/18) for a backup and a Theme 155 as well I probably won't unwrap before next season. If I find a third 18/19 Aether for dirt cheap, I'll nab that too.

I would've bought a Story as well if it didn't have those super steep nose and tail kicks. But I got a Borealis Shaman 159, that's a similar design but slightly stiffer with 5mm taper, smooth transitions to nose and tail kicks and a 8m+ sidecut. Should be solid.

I'm surprised I'm hyped over a company that doesn't put out any material from its riders. Can't get psyched over insta park edits, but checked and there's definitely some up n coming backcountry jumpers in there.

I think the eco stuff is a bit bullshit. I'm with doc on this one: cease to exist if you want to be eco. Patagonia had a seemingly cool thing at La Plagne where they fixed your stuff for free. Friend got a gore tex jacket fixed. Trade off was that you had to have a picture taken with the broken stuff. Fuck that. Only a publicity stunt and lost all respect. "Recycling is rad", well eat a dick.

Tried my buddies 18/19 Aether 156 and was surprised I liked it. Never been a fan of rocker between the feet or any c2 variation for that matter. The Aether is prob the only board I would consider owning with that camber profile. It got me interested in trying out some more Niche boards for sure. If they are not coming from the mothership 😕 then where are they coming from now?

Keil in Austria according to them. Don't think I've ridden a board from there, but I'm just very happy with mothership construction and the way they feel in general, so had to get a backup. They slightly changed the aether specs as well, so thought there's only a way down from perfection, hah.

I'll still try a board from their 19/20 line if opportunity arises, so I'm not terribly sceptical.

One of the dudes at my local shop recently bought the Pyre last month. He wanted a ww that wouldn't boot out when carving deeper w/ his size 11 booters. Was riding an Otto and Hot Knife prior to, and loves it a ton already. Rips w/ it in all terrain here, groomers, park etc. Even used it in the grab comp recently that we were part of, run by the shop each year.

And the board looks even sweeter in person, def gotta try it sometime. 155: @ 27.5cm ww/7.3 sidecut/111.3cm EE.

Buy directly from them for me it s too expensive (shipping cost and customs fees)

Within EU you shouldn't have to pay customs. Or has there been asuperr quick "ixit" I haven't read about?

From Finland.

I owned a couple Niche boards. I owned a 2014 cambered Story 162 and an 2015 Aether 158.They've changed factories multiple times since these boards hit the market, so I'm not sure how much of this translates to their current line.

The Story was EXHAUSTING to ride on-piste. Performed well but I was worn out every time I rode it in non-pow. Stiff, heavy camber, wide, pretty pronounced mag. They only make the Story with CRC now, so I expect it rides a lot mellower these days.

The Aether was a much more chill board, didn't particularly stand out to me. It basically followed same trend I've found with center-rocker boards: fun in soft snow, don't like them in firmer conditions. To be fair a 158 is pretty short for what I'd rock all-mountain, I'm usually 162-ish these days.

The Pyre looks interesting, but all-in-all I wouldn't go out of my way to own another one. They do have sick graphics, though.
