@markusm that caught my eye when flipping through the catalogs at the shop early in the summer, but it’s a board I’m hesitant buying without being able to fondle the size I want before hand.

@drjvc I still want to get on/try a smaller sized Mercury (53/55) for everyday riding, but they don’t pop up for sale used very often..

@captainlurk the baby squash is still lurking in the back of my mind 🤔🤔

it’s funny, I used to be envious of the big quiver guys until I became one, now I get way more stoked watching guys ride one or two boards all season on all terrain. can’t take any serious feedback from someone who rides 40 boards a season lol

Also, whoever was thinking about getting a Dakine Low Roller - I’ve only had my bag for two seasons but it’s been on 4 planes, been in the bed of my truck for at least 50+ hours drive time in all sorts of conditions, and besides some fading of the color it performs as new. No tears or zipper issues.

That's totally fair, and is (among other reasons) why you have to read the review sites with a huge grain of salt.  Just moving your stance location around and playing with your angles can make a world of difference, and dialing that stuff in takes time.

Plus, it's impossible to know the true character of a board before it's broken in.

Yeah - I don’t think I’ve ever looked for feedback on a board from anywhere aside from here or the local shop. Most of the guys here rip and will offer feedback after riding varied conditions or other variables which is great.

I lowkey need a Super 8 154 if anyone’s selling or trading? Have lots to trade. Would also trade for Deep Thinker in a few different sizes. Not really the right thread but it’s July.

Yup, with you on that one @nmb. Trying to keep my quiver down to a max 3 deck rotation. Possibly a 2 board quiver even, depending how wowed I am by the 54 Tranny Finder and 57 Orbit; my 2 main targets this upcoming winter.

The Otto is the potential 3rd, depending on how things go and if I sell my Stealth. Which will be determined by how awesome the Orbit will be 😅.

I want a gentem xy, but I want it to be on the stiffer side. Ideally around a 6.5 or 7.....I don't think it will be though.

Or a redtail soul motion/elevated snowcraft

believe it or not I only have 3 boards in my quiver now I'm over the huge quiver and having to sneak board past my wife. My quiver now is only my 2019 420 and squash 159 and fyra powsurfer. I do have a fair amount of bindings I need to unload and some boots. The only 19 gear I'll probably get is new vans boots and northface outerwear and maybe a squash 163 but I'll probably just keep my 159 until it explodes.

Also Mike get a squash.

Redtail is stiff you would probably like it. It was too stiff for me I sold mine to a friend he lives in Seattle area too maybe he would sell it to you once he decides to unload it shortly after the season starts.

I rode the XY and I would consider it a medium stiffness. Softer than a Giant Mantaray, but definitely not soft. I really liked it. A bit more playful than the GM.

Could not agree more. I hoarded like crazy and was proud to have a massive quiver that mostly sat unridden. But when I found out the kid was on the way, I was surprised at how at ease I felt when I unloaded. In the past two years, I've let go of eleven boards, two pairs of boots, four sets of bindings, and I don't even know how many pieces of outerwear.

I'm down to an active quiver of three boards (Deep Thinker, LandLord, Stealth... probably some overlap here), bindings for each of those decks and one pair of SLXs. For outerwear, I'm down to a Freebird bib and a Volcom Guide jacket, with a couple insulation pieces.

Quality > Quantity. I intend to ride it all into the ground.

I could see only having a couple of boards, but that's just not how it is for me. I tend to keep stuff rather than selling it, and I like having options. Counting my splitboard, I rode at least five different boards from my quiver last year, using at least four different sets of bindings (including my sparks). All of that gear is stuff that I have had for more than one season, and all of it is stuff that I have at least a few dozen days on. Some of it is stuff that has well over a hundred days on.

I haven't gotten rid of anything since last season, and with the end of season/Summer sales I have added two new sets of bindings, some outerwear, and have a board on the way.

I have a large quiver but up until now it was always turning over. I find a board that's sick, buy it, ride it a bunch, find some trivial detail why it's not perfect for me, sell it. However, I've hit on some amazing boards that are real keepers and that's really slowed down my quiver expansions. Before it was, "yes, sick board! buy!" but now it's "hmm, what will this replace?"

im with all y'all (i guess except matty haha)...i've been happy to size down, and less hassle/judgement/anger from my wife has been great. i loved getting back on the 2014 gnu beast last year. it's a little more beat up than i'd prefer but really enjoy the deck and will likely just replace with a mullair or jack knife if it blows up. only got on the 420 one day last year, but it was an absolute blast so it's not going anywhere and would just get another if something happened. only other deck is an arbor clovis, which i frankly should never have gotten. luckily from a trade for parker's nitro mtn so it cost me a mere $40 but i won't be riding it. it's nothing special, i  just wanted it cause it has my dogs name on the base. stopped collecting the asymbol x union binders and sold them all. from a function standpoint im crazy happy with my now x yes collab (still need to ride the JJ drive i picked up late). the art on those asymbols was so sick though.

all in all i don't see myself buying anything this year unless something happens to my Beast. with a new baby in the house im not sure how much i'll be riding anyway! don't need any outwear, but my tamai's are definitely softening up a bit more than i'd like. might need to do something about that, but will put it off as long as i can.

EDIT: a bunch of the jamie lynn boards caught my eye at the end of last year too. the titty fish is interesting on paper. been intrigued to try a billy goat for a long time as well.
