You can always ask for hardware here, but if you need to replace your ankle strap/highback hardware, try a regular bolt & locking nut, like truck mounting hardware from a skateboard. 7/8” is your friend

i have all the hardware and my bindings are all in at least 8.5/10 condition, it's just that some ankle straps will swivel all the way to the back where they drag on the ground heel side edge in the lift line. idk what causes it though. maybe those spacer washers between heelcup and ladder/slider? like i said, some bindings are normal, some are super "loose."

@coleslawed @mikehoncho did you guys get the progress fc, or the regular progress? interestingly (as per c3-shop website, anyways) the cheaper, regular progress has a stiffer baseplate than the fc, but highback stiffness is the same. they also claim to both have the team highback. i would think the fc would have a carbon highback, not a carbon (but softer than normal) baseplate. am i wrong in this thought? or is the carbon baseplate actually stiffer than the duraflex, or did someone mix up the stats and upload it wrong?

Can’t you just leave the straps forward and let gravity keep them there? I know you can move them to go behind the binding, but you guys are making it sound like they do it on their own. I must be misunderstanding..

From memory, I think the loose hardware issue is just that – loose hardware. The male and female ends don’t have much friction between them at all, so when the Loctite wears out, which doesn’t take much, they just never stay tight.

short answer: yes. it's not a "loose" hardware problem, it's a "loose" strap problem. flipping it in the lift line is no big deal, that was just an example. a major issue, however, is when i put boards in my roof rack. if you put the straps over the highback, they flip down and rub on the roof; if you put them under the highback, the highback flips down and rubs on the roof. i like all of my union bindings (except the forces), but it's frustrating cause this is a non-existent issue with burton. like i said, some unions have this problem, some don't. i guess another part of the frustration comes from not knowing wtf is causing it when the screws' original loctite is still fine and they're torqued down properly. maybe i'm a cry baby, but again, non-existent issue with burton (or most other major binding brands).

i'll stop now. i gotta get some replacement parts for a couple pairs of bindings, so i'll take a couple with me that are having the aforementioned problem to the c3-shop when i go for said parts and ask them "wtf?" they can figure it out/explain it. lol

FC. I think this one might have just the regular Force base, not the carbon injected one, but I wouldn’t mind if it was stiffer. otherwise I think the only difference is the new ankle strap. plus, the original Progress is only available in Small.

I can't get on the Now train; I look at them and just have a feeling I won't like them.  I don't love high heelcups or complicated tech like bushings or replacing footbeds, which is why I wouldn't get a pair of Bent Metals either.  Feels like a feature just for the sake of itself and to diddle around every few runs trying to dial in something.  I want to mount it up and know it will be predictable.  Give me a simple canted footbed with good comfy straps and a medium flex hiback and I'm happy

Thanks, Parker, totally forgot about those!  I had looked at them like 2 seasons ago, then went with the Flux last year.  I'll check em out

I don’t think any of those “negatives” you think you’re seeing would be a factor in reality. There’s nothing for you to do, you just mount and adjust them like any other binding

totally fair; I know it's all mental : ) Part of me loves trying new things and part of me hates it and just kept buying Vitas for (maybe?) too long

i was guna say...diddling around and finding the perfect setup is EXACTLY what i would think you'd want!

to spensers point i haven't really done much of that at all with them. pretty sure i've just ridden the medium bushings all of last season. only thing i'll mess with to try is the high cup. still need to do that. as for high heelcups....idk mang. can't say i liked it better or worse than all the unions i rode. for the large part they have disappeared when i'm riding them

@lilteichmonster I'm a simple simple man lol (fuck it lets wax poetically: I'm soul-searching for the sheer essence of sliding snow maaaaan, one board, a single strap over a pair of Sorel's and no Gore-tex.  I wanna feel it man realllly feeeeeel it the way Craig did in the early days)

But in all seriousness, I'm sure they're great, I'd like to try someone's first I think.  I've never even seen Now's in person tbh.  The heel cup thing never occurred to me until I stepped out of my Vita comfort zone, which was not a bad thing!  That's what kind of sparked this new binding search as well as supporting a homie's shop with a decent purchase this season (shout out boardworks in B-ham yet again, let's try to keep the small local core shops open!)
