Got the new Photon Step Ons today. I'm an aggressive OK rider, not getting any younger and main reason is I want to be able to step on & lock in right off the lift. I do spend lots of time with skiers. I know I still need to bend down to disconnect. Definitely plan to be riding them on steep terrain.

Would be very interesting to compare to my other bindings & boots - Ride Fuse, Burton Tourist + SLX, Genesis X, Union FC Ultra, not to mention hard boots  😀 I am curious about the reported better toe-side response because of the high attachment point, not that I think my current ones are lacking.

On a related note: SO seems to be selling well today...

Lol. I've never heard the expression, "aggressive OK rider" before.

I'm becoming more curious about StepOn. Attended an event with Dave Downing a couple weeks back and he mentioned that he hasn't ridden straps in three years.

Haha, I can see it. Tons of them here. Regular dudes, maybe dads, who the kids don’t notice, but he’s actually ripping pretty okay. Team Regular Guy for life.

Wow - thanks for sharing! I know he likes softer boots like Photon.

I mean that I am just a decent rider vs. someone really good but do put in a lot when I ride 🙂

Hi Guys,

I'm an Italian snowboarder and I've been reading you for some time with satisfaction. First of all sorry for my grammatical errors..  🤣

I'm searching some Stungun's review.. Anyone has tried? This season I want to return to the B and I love the SG shape... Last year I've ridden Mega and K2 simple pleasure with Union Team bindings. But in the 19 I have to decide between the Stun Gun (155 o 158) and the Skeleton. With Cartel obviously..

The spot where I ride are typically Italian (Cervinia, Campiglio, Livigno). Anyone knows? Intermediate level riding, mostly carve and pow.. I'm not a park fan.. Only few jumps.. Ty for your advice.

I'm an aggressive OK rider too.

Last year, some fat little boy (read: half my size, at least my weight!) decided to "draw" on my topsheet with their ski poles at the lift line.

I shoved the brat so hard, he fell outta line.  (disclaimer: I had warned him, but he kept on scratching my biard!)

When I ride, I'm doing okay, though.. 😀

On a different note:

Would you consider the storyboard for someone who's not an expert rider but just wants to ride groomers and pow?

I guess I'll have her try it if they've got it there, but feel like she needs something more playful.. Won't get her to learn butters and jibbing on the SB, I'm afraid...

just let her ride your fishcuit. i put the lady on mine last year and she liked it, even though it's wide as fuck and she's an 8W.

@slim253

Yeah, I plan on doing that, once I got her to learn the basics in pow riding.  🙂

So you'd get her somethin more playful for the groomers and give her the lil fish for the deep stuff?

Yo so what's the deal with this Jake Burton Mine77 collection coming out in Dec? Is it hard goods or just soft goods?

Also what's the ETA on the AK Tusk business?  I don't need anything but I'm curious what the features will be compared to other lightweight shells and bibs

you don't want the tusk bibs. they were made for skiers.

mmm pants for those skinny-hippin'-butt-wigglin'-mogel-runnin' SOBs

I'm assuming "made for skiers" means... narrower cut or?  I thought that was just an EL over-exagerration of Damn The Man Keep it Core talk.  Is this actually a concerted effort to attract more two-plankers to the big B?

Hi! I cannot give you any information on the Stun gun or the Skeleton Key, but I wanted to welcome you and let you know that I will be travelling to Italy this Winter to snowboard there. This will be my first trip to Italy for snowboarding, and I will be in Courmayeur and La Thuile, though I may try to go to other places in the Aosta valley as well.

I don't think so. There was a review in a ski magazine that generated some twisted britches, though. I think that there was also some angst over the inclusion of anti-scuff patches on the insides of the ankles until some were reminded that lightweight goretex backcountry stuff might be used for splitboarding and that those scuff patches might prove useful for that (kind of why Volcom does the same on the Rain bibs).

OK that's what I thought occurred, just making sure I didn't miss any actual real details other than speculation.  I'm glad I have my Spyder kit dialed already

I do wanna know what the dilio with this Jake collection is.  I assume it will be the second coming of the overhyped Stone Hut, mystery stun gun with some quote on it or whatever.  No dis to Jake but the B hype machine is dumb.  Might as well sell red stomp pads, leashes and buckle hardware at Supreme
