mmm pants for those skinny-hippin'-butt-wigglin'-mogel-runnin' SOBs

I'm assuming "made for skiers" means... narrower cut or?  I thought that was just an EL over-exagerration of Damn The Man Keep it Core talk.  Is this actually a concerted effort to attract more two-plankers to the big B?

I don't think so. There was a review in a ski magazine that generated some twisted britches, though. I think that there was also some angst over the inclusion of anti-scuff patches on the insides of the ankles until some were reminded that lightweight goretex backcountry stuff might be used for splitboarding and that those scuff patches might prove useful for that (kind of why Volcom does the same on the Rain bibs).

OK that's what I thought occurred, just making sure I didn't miss any actual real details other than speculation.  I'm glad I have my Spyder kit dialed already

I do wanna know what the dilio with this Jake collection is.  I assume it will be the second coming of the overhyped Stone Hut, mystery stun gun with some quote on it or whatever.  No dis to Jake but the B hype machine is dumb.  Might as well sell red stomp pads, leashes and buckle hardware at Supreme

Yeah I got the hype email from the big B about the special "Mine 77" Jake collection yesterday, clicked the link in the email, and watched the video. From the super-fast collage section in the middle of the video, it looks like the collection at least involves tie-dye and bandana patterned base layer stuff and some split-toe socks. Yay. Also had that creepy gnome weirdo Greg Dacyshyn dude in the foreground of several of the clips. Double yay. Burton also appears to want me to sign up for email alerts about whatever this is, even though they already clearly have me on their email list, since they sent me an email to announce it. Not interested. I have a sneaking suspicion from other things featured in the video that whatever this is will probably also find a way to involve step-on bindings. Doubly not interested. I will continue to purchase Burton base layers and boots as my only Burton products for the foreseeable future.

Hi Guys,

I'm an Italian snowboarder and I've been reading you for some time with satisfaction. First of all sorry for my grammatical errors..  🤣

I'm searching some Stungun's review.. Anyone has tried? This season I want to return to the B and I love the SG shape... Last year I've ridden Mega and K2 simple pleasure with Union Team bindings. But in the 19 I have to decide between the Stun Gun (155 o 158) and the Skeleton. With Cartel obviously..

The spot where I ride are typically Italian (Cervinia, Campiglio, Livigno). Anyone knows? Intermediate level riding, mostly carve and pow.. I'm not a park fan.. Only few jumps.. Ty for your advice.

Personally, I think the Stun Gun is a much better board. I loved it. More playful than the Dump Truck and Skeleton Key; but I tried the 155 Stun Gun vs the 158 Skeleton Key... maybe if I had tried the 154 SK they'd be more similar.

Both the Dump Truck and Skeleton Key absolutely rail turns, so if you consider yourself an aggressive go fast rider (or simply want something for charging), those are that. Dump Truck more float; Skeleton Key more groomer charging but will float ok. The Stun Gun is a little bit more playful, still was solid on turns, very poppy and easy to turn. Awesome shape for floating too.

Allora... io penzo che la Stun Gun e migliore 😀

Also what's the ETA on the AK Tusk business?  I don't need anything but I'm curious what the features will be compared to other lightweight shells and bibs

most shops are still waiting on the regular [ak] stuff to come in.

Stungun is a softer, mellow predictable ride. it has setback, camber (mostly) and a bit of taper. it rides like how you think it would and is suitable for all but guys trying to ride like how they think jeremy jones rides (meaning super aggressive in any and all conditions).

i haven't been on a skeleton key but i can't imagine it rides significantly different. you would likely enjoy either board.

Yo so what's the deal with this Jake Burton Mine77 collection coming out in Dec? Is it hard goods or just soft goods?

its a bit of everything, and yes Jake rides step ons pretty much exclusively. pro tip: if you're 30 plus years younger than jake you will not be interested in any of it.

ak tusk: "deep winter" meaning decemberish. the tusk stuff is patterned off of the "midfit" in burtons line (as well as the freebird jacket this year) so its a bit slimmer than regular ak stuff. a xxl midfit jacket fits just slightly bigger than an xl volcom jacket.

as far as the features go, nothing revolutionary compared to any other "serious" backcountry stuff. very light and thin, and pretty much not something you'd wear on the street.

Ty Drjcv. You think that SG is a soft snowboard? I don't like soft flex.. I prefer medium. At least medium hard flex. Burton made other boards with similar spec but with more flex? I've the possibility to buy the dump truck 18...

Please, anything but this. I try not to use the word hate too loosely. But with this whole Hypebeast/Supreme trend, I'm pretty darn close.

And I'm not well read on Greg Dacyshyn, but I def agree w/ @matty with the whole creepy vibe. Feels a little too try hard with the whole hipster vibe. Has he really made a significant impact for B, or more importantly, snowboarding in general?

And the Dump Truck's prob the best board I've been on to date. Local riding, we don't get too many deep days sadly, but man can it rip groomers. Love the taper on it and its overall shape, such a fun charger. And it personally felt lighter than usual compared to other B boards I've ridden, which was awesome for swing weight. Had a ton of fun hitting every sidehit and kicker I could take it on.

The only thing I would consider remotely changing would be to make it a touch stiffer. But that's just me nitpicking. Have a feeling I'm gonna regret selling it, and/or it's gonna find it's way back into my quiver lol.

Would consider it mid stiff at most, personally. Similar in flex to the FA or the Kazu from my experience. Had it paired with Ion Leathers & Genesis binders, for perspective.

Demo-ed Custom, CustomX and Malavita EST last night. CustomX is so great to ride. Noticeably faster  and more lively than the regular Custom.
