That is very true. Most snowboarders are very average. When you watch even the good reviews, how many can ride like Spenser? Guf from The House is a good snowboarder, but does he ride as well as Spenser? Nope. Hell there's even a few pros who can only do rails/jumps and can't turn with style. I've been riding 18 years, still have lots to learn, but the fact that I can properly carve turns makes me better than 70% of riders when I go to the Alps.

I think this is why almost all board reviews need a pinch of salt. Somebody says a board is too stiff, or catchy, or you will die riding it... well yeah probably if you can't really ride.

It seems like the Japanese are generally better on average? Plenty of instagram vids of little kids carving beautiful turns on Gentems.

tried to order some 19/20 malavita wing highbacks and after some email correspondence with Burton customer service they're sending me some for free, just to hook me up.  super stoked, let it snow.

I've banned myself from the outlet, too many good deals is bad for the wallet. The fact that they stack the AAA discount on sale prices just makes it more appealing.

The One Hitter's progressively growing on me by the day lol. Curious to hear any firsthand exp/input on it (esp those around my weight range 😅). Particularly with regards to feel/flex on snow.

Well I am certainly not the measuring stick for what makes a good normal-person regular-guy average-rider, but I do appreciate the compliment built into that comment 😊

I’m not sure what I think about my riding, but if I can actually ride a board with style, rather than be good at tricks, I will take that all day, every day.

For me it was the panhandler. But, after trying a few, I don’t think I can warrant having one in my quiver (not to say I don’t enjoy them).

I’m going the other direction: length 💪

Yes. If I could only ride 2 decks this season it would be squash and feeder. Pretty much all I wanted to ride last season. Haven’t had the feeder in pow yet but it’s mega fun on my little local. Snappy, flexy, fun little ripper. Plus matte black with a moon tail.  Just enough length to flex on them points! Fun in the park. Bettin’ you’d be into it.

Edit: also no cumbersome door feeling like the slush slasher.

If I could afford a team, you would definitely be on it (along with Louis and Bob). I will pick style and knowing how to turn a board over tricks any day.

My local shop guy showed me the deep winter releases and I honestly don't remember much about them other than the 3D Fish and my feelings of being totally underwhelmed.

A few retro-ish outerwear pieces, different colourways for Step-On, and I think a couple decks that would've been way too small/soft for me to care.
