agree.  My first Anon's I had blue lagoon for stormy days.  While good, I definitely prefer the pink in terms of contrast.  Also shoutout to basic yellow lens for stormy days too.  Rocked a beater pair of EGV's with straight yellow lens as a backup for really wet days and they performed well

Anon M4 cylindrical goggles with green sonar and blue sonar lenses are on their way to me. Some place in Connecticut (Bob's Sports Chalet?) had 'em for $60 less than retail, so that's where I ordered them from. Probably take a week or ten days to get to Ski-attle with free economy shipping? I don't think that the MFI facemask or quick-change magnetic lens dealie will be significant for me, but the fit on those goggles on my face when I tried them on in the shop was fantastic. Stoked to see if those Zeiss lenses are a noticeable step up from Smith ChromaPops.

Something tells me that airgoggles with RBC lenses will still be my go-to on deep sweaty days, but we'll see!

Anyone had experience with the Prizm HI Pink vs. say a typical ~80% vlt yellow lens? I like the contrast, but haven't really tried those in low viz conditions (only outside a shop) when it's dumping. Not necessarily low light. Have been using Dragon yellow lenses for those days, which have done their job just fine to be honest.

think I might try out the Sync this year. don’t really need the locking part, just like the color options better than what M3’s offer. although the M4 colorways with the tortoise shell around the lens are tempting, too.

I didn't see that some of the M4 torics have that tortoiseshell frame to the lens until you mentioned it. I ordered the cylindrical version, which doesn't offer any tortoiseshell on the lens frames. I like the tortoiseshell, but I like cylindrical lenses more.

If I'm not mistaken, the rep at the shop told us the frames are the same and either style of lens can go on..might be wrong though?

frames are the same, but the tortoise portion is only around the edges of the spherical lenses, not the frames themselves. I think there is one cylindrical colorway with it, but it doesn’t pop as much.

Yes, but there's a mini frame around each lens that's part of the lens. It's where the magnets are located. That's the part that is tortoiseshell on a couple of the toric lenses but not on the cylindrical versions. The frame choices are exactly the same : matte black (couple of different strap options), "white" (looks more light gray to me), "lay back" (teal), "eyes" (red), green, and "royal" (orange).

You can see how it works in this picture:

Oh! I can see that now. I got the matte black ones with the sonar green and sonar blue lenses. The layback ones appear to have the sonar blue lens with the tortoise surround. Maybe the sonar blue lens with my goggles will also have tortoise shell. Fingers crossed.

Oops.  Also the M4s again are the best goggle I've ever owned if anyone is still on the fence.  Now I want tortoise lens.

The goggles got delivered yesterday. The lens surround on the sonar blue is not tortoise shell. It's black like the surround on the sonar green lens. I am only mildly disappointed.

Goggles seem rad. I am stoked to wear them this season. They fit my gigantor face better than my Smith Squad XLs. Looking through the lenses in my house, they seem at least as high quality as the Smith Chromapops, if not even higher quality.

Magnets are the future.

Anyone know if SONAR Blue or SONAR Infrared or SONAR Night is more comparable to Oakley Hi Pink?

Oakley Hi Pink is 46% Visible Light Transmission (VLT)

https://www.oakley.com/en-us/product/WGOO7064R?variant=888392180742

Anon:

SONAR Night 77 %
SONAR Infrared 57 %
Amber 55 %
SONAR Blue 46 %

(from Anon/Burton site)

I'm fairly confident that any physics-based (i.e. there's no magic here) difference in the polycarbonate and tinting approach (color, opacity) is going to be damn near imperceptible to the average human (read: meatbag) sensorial system. 😉

Both companies make quality product, but let's not fall for marketing "magical realism."
