Metal will add a pound and a half at least, probably more.

Bullet Train Plus 160

Board Weight (kg) 3.1

Café Racer Plus 159

Board Weight (kg) 2.6

Pencil Plus 164

Board Weight (kg) 2.6

500g == 1.1 lbs

Interesting.  I would like to see how the metal is integrated.  I would think two full-length, full-width layers of titanal would weight more than 500g.  Perhaps they're running inserts rather than full layers?

I am excited to hear the feedback on this model.  It's cool to see a larger manufacturer going in this direction.

You'll be purchasing one, I presume? @bopuc

@lonzsr

There are no trails, no grooming where I ride.

Also, I do not have the knees to withstand the G forces that thing will induce when it's ridden properly. 🤣

Added weight on a carving board is a good thing, obviously to a degree. You aren’t supposed to be leaving the ground and maneuvering around with a little park stick, you’re supposed to be freight training down the mountain on edge. I would be pumped to try that board. The funny thing about them is that they are actually really easy to ride if you give them the speed and angle they want. It is much more difficult to do the same thing on a more traditional board.

You can make a light board damp by adding some sort of dampening material to it. I cant think of a situation where more weight is better when it comes to snowboard gear.

On the Bullet Train. It seems to be a boardercross board (kessler, oxess etc) for the carve crowd. I was and am curious to step foot on something in that category of boards but i am quite sure i'd never buy one.

I’m not talking about dampness, I just mean a board with a little more weight to it feels better when riding the way a deck like this was designed. It’s about how it feels, not a measurable physical property of construction. And that’s just my opinion and experience, of course.

In the standing sideways podcast interview w/ Wolken, he mentioned he started out as a carver.  Not surprised that this is out after all the product and marketing Korua has done the past couple of years on their other boards.  Definitely a market that can grow back and their tapping into it by dropping a "high tech" carver.  You'll see a few euro's on carving boards such as Kessler/F2 doing cross.  Between the "freestyle" brands out there, cool to see Korua, Amplid, and Nitro putting their toes into this category.  Easy for them to pull tech from Kessler/F2 who have been doing it for some time and re-market.

Weight is your friend if you're looking to carve as fast as you can, as precisely as you can because heavy boards don't get knocked off their line as much.  They just plow through snow without deflecting; that's why race boards and race skis are purposefully heavy.  Of course, extra weight carries additional costs as well, so I wouldn't want my daily to be a heavy tank.  A BBW makes a great morning groomer slayer, though.

My new Dart lands this week, so with any luck I'll get some laps on it Friday.  Early Christmas present to myself, I cannot fucking wait.

So got out on day one on my Tranny Finder 54.

Damn, been a minute since I’ve ridden a board with that much camber. I’ve always ridden camber dominate boards, camber underfoot - at least from insert pack to insert pack, but it’s just been a while with this much camber.

Was railing turns. Loved it, it’s a 154 that rides like a 160.

Feels solid, feels like it’s gonna plow through chunder/chop on a pow day.

Hope that the early rise nose floats well in pow.

I’m ready to order a Otto 157....

One thing that love about the brand is the waist widths, 26-27 is my jam...

I also love the complete lack of graphics. To me the plain top sheet and base is timeless.

My wife is gonna be pissed when I buy the 4th deck in 3 weeks...

The Tranny Finder 54 is the one I have my eye on! I also want to try the Otto.

I have a Cafe Racer + in the house but it's for @yukiotokosama . It looks rad, like a big brother to the K2 Simple Pleasures.
