Any of you guys over 6 feet tall riding the short fat?

I really want to try one of the volumes shifted boards but I’m concerned about the length at 147.

In my mind I can see the board squirting out when landing anything. I have always ridden wide boards, the wider the better. The specs for this year looks great but the length is messing with my mind.

Looking at picking up this years since next year they are making it a little bit narrower.

Which one? Im 5'11 and was 230ish when I had the Cool Bean 144 and on groomers it was great but my Slush Slasher 143 was too small so sold it and bought a 147. Thinking about picking up a 151 also.

@mr MC has too narrow of a tail for what I’m looking for in a short fat board. I’ve got size 13 feet so I really like the 33.7 nose and 32 tail on the Jamie Lynn short fat.

@cole Good to hear about 6 foot guy liking the board. Pulling the trigger. I didn’t need much of a push

curious to know how you like it.  I'm 6'2 and the smallest board that ever felt Ok enough was the CAxx.  Everything else small/shortfat/whatever felt exactly like you mentioned--not enough tail, squirted out on everything and just felt like riding a lunch tray

In reality the nose on the Jamie Lynn Short Fat measures 32.7 not the advertised 33.7.

so I pulled the 161w Mullair to eyeball up today, and that thing is a tank. like, significantly heavier than Bailey's 4 in the 162. any Mullair owners notice theirs being heavier than other boards?

also, the new T.Rice actually looks cool for once (in the freestyle sizes, at least), and the new Orca graphic is radder in person (but I already liked the black more than the blue).

None of my Mullairs seemed heavy, they just seem nice and stout. I don’t like decks that are designed to be extra light anyway.

Makes me think of the Billygoat… built to be a damp mountain-crusher with a steady freight-train rhythm. Gotta have some weight and density to the materials. Mervin has always been a little more beefy.

That said, I think the weight differences are negligible in action. Personally, I feel more comfortable on a board that I can feel under my feet, rather than something that is trying to be weightless from outer space

New Orca is here. Not sure if it's the typical Mervariance or intentional, but it has way more rocker than last year. Closer to my Hyper Khyarve. Also seems softer.

I am trying to find a 153 Orca and cannot find one at the regular places like Tactics, Evo, Milo, Backcountry.  Anyone have any other sites that they recommend where I can find a 153 in stock.

I think those initial listings were just the first drop from Mervin, more should be coming later.

I'm sure the orca is a fun board but the amount of fomo surrounding it has turned me off quite a bit. Fully expect to see doods that can barely ride loudly talking about how it's the best board evar.

as an aside I don't mind the guy but Angry could use 5 grams in the dark... a few times.
