Well, I just pulled the trigger as soon as the target dropped out of nowhere on snowboard trader… New in plastic squash 159 from last year. Looking forward to thinking thoughts about it on snow.  Wasn’t really looking to get an additional board, but I knew I was going to try one of these sooner or later.

I rarely ride switch, but do like to throw in the odd lofty back 180 once in a while. The only concern I have about it is that the notch in the swallowtail is nearly flat, so no “real” tail kick for going backwards with confidence. We’ll see! If I can do it on a fish......

I haven’t ridden a nitro since my 2004 team in highschool.

did you get it from dan sell? tried seeing if he was interested in trading for my 420

Hey now, I may be dirty and sometimes a dirtbag, but I haven’t leaked anything this year

Squash 59 arrived this morning 10 minutes after I had left for the mountain. But, the forecast is calling for up to 17" by end of tomorrow, sooooooooo I think I'll get a chance to test it out.  This also means we will have some actual groomed runs to get my carve on.

My vinyl plan is matte black, and I replicated the Q in gloss black to keep it true to the quiver series.

First impressions because I know you wanted to know: I probably shat this color in my diapers as a bebe. Camber is real. Stiff is flex; long is nose. Standing up on the floor, same exact height as Mullair 161.

Visually, it is definitely fairly set back, but I measured from inserts to contact points, and it’s not too dissimilar to a Mullair style board. Probably going to ride it at factory setback to start. Also, reference stance (or middle of  inserts) is 23.5”, so it doesn’t actually allow for too much offset at 22”

Offset from factory stance definitely depends on the specific board and company, and I think this one will probably be great as is

I’m thinking yes?! Definitely on the edge of my seat waiting for thoughts. Could sell a lot of boardz for Nitro if this thing goes well!!!

All jokes aside Spense your a specific dood! I respect that. We know sidecut will be a hot topic of conversation. The progressive one on this machine feels locked in af through-out the turn...for me anyway. Revert carves on groomers make me smile😁. More curious about the fresh 17” review ya lucky duck?! Never had mine in anything that deep....yet

Im 5’8-5’9 160 and I run the 53 for everything but have time on a friends 59 and been thinking hard about doubling up. Fusion obviously is also on the radar.

Mike I know you like your wws ^^ due to stance angles. But I’m telling u man!

Some of these Nitro boards are really interesting.  One of my favorite boards ever was a Nitro Supernatural, followed up with a Shogun, which was cool too.  It had these metal throwing stars baked into the base.  The Shogun was old-school school freeride and a tad too stiff for my liking, but those boards railed.  At one time there were tons of Nitros here in the east, and despite being in Burton's back yard, I think they had a U.S. facility in Lebanon New Hampshire.  Not sure what happened to that, it may have just been a distribution center for North America.

I would LOVE to own one of those pink Cannons, just for the utter ludicrousness of riding it here in the east.  Of course I'd have to draw a hairy dick and balls on the top sheet with a sharpie, just because.  I'd never have to buy my own beer in the lodge ever again.
