Thanks for the heads up. Not too worried about that. Parker already put in the new style Spark clips, and I have a set of normal Karakoram‘s as well as ultras.  Will definitely check out the sparks, but was planning to put in the ultras as soon as I get it.

Interested in those Spark clips if you decide to dump them. Not a fan of the Plum clips on my Sick Stick.

I knew they had their own clips these days, but hadn’t actually looked at them yet. Those look sweet! Definitely going to play with them in person before I decide what I want to do, and to be honest I may just keep both.

Spark's new nose and tail clips are my favourites as well, and I've used Voile, Karakorum, and Prowders.  I haven't used the new cam-lock Kara clips yet (or seen them), though.  They look pretty sweet too, but the Spark design is super simple and really effective.  I haven't had a nose or tail clip open on me yet, and I've definitely eaten shit at decent speed in heavy snow, which is a solid recipe for popping a nose clip.

So, do those Salomon clips just slide together like Voile hooks?

Pretty much. They're Plum WOM hooks. They appear to be better than Voile, but not as good as the new Karakoram or the Spark crossbar clips. Probably upgrading to the Spark as there's a small gap that I want to get ride of. My concern with the Spark is I've heard of freezing issues. Not sure how prevalent that is though.

"I have a set of normal Karakoram‘s as well as ultras"

Do you notice much difference between the two?

I also got the tip/tail clips from Spark as well this year.

The Sparks work better in my opinion as the purely pull sideways, there is no part of the clips that has vertical movement, so the clamping motion is only together. The tip/tail clips are once again, like most Spark products in comparison to Karakoram products, a much simpler solution with less engineering and they just get progressively tighter but you don't need to worry about a cam.

I got the Arc Pros as well to complete my new split setup this year, but due to the knee issues haven't been able to use any of it yet so far...  Really looking forward to getting out on it, everything weighs quite a bit less and the split it self is 5cm shorter, the Aspens I like to usually tour in will be a tad easier to maneuver in.

Knee Replacement can't come soon enough...

You can set up the ultraclips so they pull the board tight without worrying about hulling the board with the regulars since there is more overlap across the board halves and the camming action is different

That's a slick board.  The white is a good look.

Is that the custom width, custom sidecut Khyber you were talking about a few months back?

Thanks Hai. I have the old clips and my experience is they don't do a good job of pulling the halves together (admittedly nothing to compare them to, just seems like there should be less of a gap).
