Opti is one of the best boards I've ridden in the past couple years. It's a board you'd ride everyday while being a carving beast and performing in pow. 420 is fun but a bit soft. Never ridden the PH version, but it seems like it would be more versatile being a little less short fat.

Its official! The new 2019 420 ph has camber and is stiffer!

BA43A677 BCED 421B A7FF 5478754552A4

So, on a lark, I pinged YES. about this, because the specs on their website, and propagated to all resellers clearly states there is no camber (basically last year's specs). (The print catalog gets it right with "R2-C4-R2", btw.)

Answer from the designer, Alex W., himself:

Thank you for catching us on the website specs being dated.
The correct camber spec for the 019 420PH is 4mm of camber. The powderhull then creates a mixed rocker line at the tip and tail, depending on where you're measuring across the surface.

This board is built within acceptable tolerances. (+/- 2mm)

I gotta say also, this reply came within hours. I sent it late evening CET, and when I woke up there was the reply, mediated via the German rep. Pretty impressive. This must part of the customer service infrastructure Nidecker provides for its umbrella brands.

Ahhh... Burton would call this Warply Wambly Cambly Profile.

Yes. is missing out on a golden opportunity to add cool-speak marketing jargon names.

To add on to this, I've only grabbed a different board out of my garage once or twice since getting my Opti. Now that I have a Super8 that might change, but we'll see.

Noticed the camrock for the 2019 PYL has changed from 2-4-2 to 1-4-2 , so more rocker in the tail than the nose. Only 1mm but would be interested in the reasoning for that.

any of you doods ridden a board with more tail rocker?

I think it's just in tune with the current design and doubt anything's changed. In other words the nose has always had a smoother rise than the tail, which makes sense if you think about it.
