F@ck yeah faceshots today off chair 6 at Crystal and I only got there about 2pm!

Was riding with a friend from Hong Kong, he was giggling like a schoolgirl as he missed Japan this year. Know Triple8sol was out there on the Y but didn't see him and only had 2 hrs to ride so

Glad to hear it was just as good over at south back. I spent all day hitting Northway chutes and a couple short hikes. Heading back up to Crystal again tomorrow. Hopefully there are some stashes left!

Alert: Spreefest at Alpy on Saturday! Hope to be able to test next year's boards 🙂 It's not free but it's for charity

For reference, last year there were a bunch of Gentemsticks w/ Karakoram and Burton brought out the Speed Date, etc.

apparently K2 snowboards and skis, and line skis, were doing a demo from 4-close yesterday at silver fir. we didn't get there til like 6-6:30, so had no interest (plus i already own the K2 skiboards that pique my interest). they had 3 tents set up right near the lift line, but i didn't see any boards at all. idk if they only brought a couple or what.

@triple8sol @lernr how is krystal now that it isn't owned by kkkim? lift tickets still gnarly expensive? i haven't even looked at ticket prices for stevens or krystal this year - i'm afraid to.

@slim: I asked for a half-day or some discount. The kid selling me the ticket looked embarrassed to charge me $80 for 2 hours! He was literally "Is it OK?

K2 had buncha boards out today

Anyway, I had too much to  drink last night, International Women's Day, so couldn't get to the hill before noon today. There were no Burtons, but I saw K2, Never Summer, Weston, Jones, Gentemstick, Union, Capita, I think Salomon... Only had time to get on several Gentemsticks: Giant Manta, Chaser, and TT. The big surprise for me was that I loved the Chaser; also the Giant Manta was softer than I expected. I was hungover so didn't really ride much or well, stayed only on the lower mountain, lines were kinda gnarly, but now at least I have an idea about Gentemsticks. Karakoram Prime X binding were very nice.

Hit Crystal 6x so far this season, and no bad vibes at all. Lift tix are the same price as Stevens, same goes for 25% off w/buddy tix. Turns out traffic and lift lines are also similar now, but their tram shuttle thing works really well and ticket window moves about 250x faster than the bullshit at Stevens. Pretty sure I’m getting both the Epic & Ikon next season.

Gonna be at Hyak tomorrow riding Mosses and Slush Slashers with friends. May switch to my Salomon at some point. If you see a big dude on a Moss or a Salomon with Volcom outerwear on at Hyak, it's probably me. Come say what's up and take a lap!

this is the last weekend for Hyak (east), anybody gonna be there on sunday? laurasaurus works on saturdays, but we're planning to get up there early (for once), ride a little, stop and bbq, then ride the rest of the day. if any of you giggledicks are gonna be there too and wanna take laps, holla holla. we can make bbq plans as well if you hmu ahead of time (and bring a couple bucks to throw in, cause - no job atm). *bonus points if you have a lady friend for laura to ride with cause she's never had another lady to ride with*

Don't think I'll go early, though - want to catch up on sleep plus softer snow later in the day

I will probably be at Hyak on Sunday, but still figuring out my weekend. As usual, if you see a big, tall dude on a Salomon, Korua, Moss, or Capita: it's probably me. Looks like some rain is in the forecast, so if I'm there I'll probably be wearing a blue Volcom jacket.

I guess Matty will be easy to spot.

@slim: I can bring beers and such, or stuff for the bbq - what do you want? I can also bring cash, if you prefer / easiest.

SLX boots. Still don't know what boards I'm bringing. Potentially Working Stiff as it was fun today at Alpy but thinking the Korua Stealth or my never-ridden Moss can be fun in the slush, too. Black Arcteryx gtx if it's raining. Black Trewth bib or orange Flylow pants, PM me if you want mobile

We ended up parking at Silver Fir, though we did hit the crossover to Hyak (some of the dirtiest snow I've ever ridden) and rode over there for a few hours before heading back to central to catch the end of the Minor Threat comp. While at Hyak, we mostly lapped Rampart. Serpentine was still in pretty good shape from last weekend's snow skate race, and there were a bunch of side hits and rollers that were lap-able from the Rampart chair. It was so warm that I only wore my jacket at the very beginning of the day. I alternated with my Korua, which somehow ended up with mismatched black and white Union team bindings on it, and my Super 8, which had next year's Strata team on it, the bright yellow ones that they just did an early release on.

It was slushy, sunny, and fun. Not sure how many more weeks we're gonna get, though. Awfully warm up there!
