Looks like Snoqualmie is going to open up Alpental for one last weekend. No Cinco de Mayo this year, but making it to the 28th of April is still pretty good. Laps this past weekend were slushy and fun. The Alpental park setup was pretty cool (though I preferred last year's). Should be a party this weekend if the weather's good again.

What no Cinco this year? Last years turn and burn park was pretty fun

Eh, spent my first couple years in Seattle at Summit, and most of the terrain bores me. Spend most of my time there nowadays out the gates or touring Hyak or Pineapple/Kendall

Did you mean just Summit West? As Hyak is Summit East and Alpental can claim the bc gates & Pineapple. And even West has its days with Wildside.

When I had a pass there I spent most of my days at central/silver fir before it had its own lodge and alpental. When I do find myself up at the pass I'm mostly out the alpental gates when avy danger is moderate. I've explored just about every inch of in bounds terrain at all the summits most days I'd rather be elsewhere in the NW resorts or touring

Sounds like Stevens is a better fit for you - or even better yet: Crystal.

Gotcha.

Maybe I haven't been here long enough to get bored with it. Coming from Florida, 10 years later I'm still super happy to be able to get on snow in 45 min out the door.

I like crystal but living on the north end of the lake that adds at least half and hour to the drive. Usually just head north to Baker instead

I grew up in Colorado, I've lived in Seattle for 12 years, and I feel the same way. So many good turns to be had at Snoqualmie. When it's open for nights, I usually ride at least one midweek night after work. I've had so many awesome Wildside Wednesdays with a foot or more of pow or random nights lapping chair 1 at Alpental. Saturday mornings at Hyak can be super fun. Lots of little mini-golf sections over there, and we always try to hit the snake run a couple of times every day we ride there. Silver Fir is awesome for side hits and carving groomers, and we can park feet from the lift and the lodge. My goals with snowboarding are all about having fun. I don't need to ride super gnarly shit to do that. Sometimes, that's what presents itself. Most of the time, however, I'm just trying to cruise around and have fun with my friends. Snoqualmie is awesome for that.

Well last weekend at Alpental and we may even get some snow flurries.

Is anyone going? I won't be able to make both days but hope for Saturday.

Will be up at Alpy for closing day. Saturday is still TBD, but prob not, think I'd rather go biking.

Already picked up both Epic Local and Ikon Base passes though, so I'm ready for next season!

That was a fun final weekend! Got in a top-to-bottom as our second run of the day on Saturday, and the couple of inches of fresh snow rode surprisingly well. The entrance into Upper Nash and first pitch were kind of "dust on frozen moguls"-y, but we went out through the gate into snakedance and that was more than worth it. Sunday (yesterday) was super fun slush and drinking beers in the lot.

Also, Superpark 22 is this week at Crystal. Weird. The resort best known for its lack of a decent park and that just a few seasons ago was leveraging their "only gondola in the state" to spin their lifts until July is now hosting one of the biggest park events but has also closed to the general public on April 21st (except for limited "watching the contest"-only tickets). Like I said: weird.

Good for you, guys! Things went down a bit differently and I couldn't make it to the slopes. I'm hoping to get more splitting now that the resorts are closed.

One of my favorite kids from our program got invited to Superpark. So I'll be watching through his Instagram stories.
