The Official "Captain's Log" thread
What was the term we coined on your behalf? Wiggle something?
We got dumped on and today was the day. Weird inversion though - some areas at sea level got almost 2 feet, others 18”, and Eaglecrest got around a foot. It was lighter in town than up there, but good for filling things in.
sorry for the Instagram videos... they don’t post very well here. that said, I’ll forget and keep doing it regardless. please ban me from smartphones.
stoked on riding with a best friend today, who doesn’t make it up so much anymore. his air here shows the upper snowpack conditions well... but the second bigger dump just started 😁 almost ready to finish the edit I’ve been adding to since day 1
First edit of the season, everything up until now..

Yeah, I know... I was there for New Year's last year. Nothing but Porcupine laps. The snow came right after I left. Was cool to hang out in town for a few days doing the touristy stuff tho.
Just had a week in Courchevel, French Alps. Perfect conditions. Heavy snowfall Sunday and Monday, some more snow Thursday, blue-sky and cold every other day. Took my Juice Wagon and Custom 156 but realised I prefer the Custom. Think I'm going to step up to a Custom X, Pantera or Suprateam for next season.
I'd love to upload some GoPro footage but it's telling me the file is too big?
I'm in les arcs, very close. Gazed upon the courchevel airstrip from the bellecotte glacier today. Did some freeriding, but I hope you did not right after the dumps apart from trees, since it snowed on some sugary stuff and this hoar that had formed such due to the cold. Was very unstable for a bit. Had Tunnel Creek incident written over stuff.
Groomers are good though! Courchevel is my least favorite area to ride in 3 valleys, I'd definitely venture to check Meribel but val thorens most of all. If you fancy a 2min hike to some great fields, get to les menuires and head up la masse (i think) and from top lift check right past behind the rock. Solid pretty mellow stuff that stays untracked for a good time, especially january! Mellow, but do bring your avy kit just in case.
Yeah didn't ride any off-piste. There was a ton of snow Sunday and Monday so just rode the pow on the marked runs.
