just read it. interesting. sounds like a lot of people were giving them shit for how they handled terrain openings and holds and what not during the storm. 23 feet of fucking snow?! are you seriously going to complain about that kind of stuff. i can’t even imagine how hard that is to deal with

True, some of the complaints are petty
I laughed when one of the comments turned into a Locs vs. Bay Area tourists bashing discussion.

The age old debate haha. Almost as old as the skiers v snowboarders 'discussion'.

True, some of the complaints are petty; however, there are some valid issues that people brought up that Squaw is ignoring/deleting on their social media posts. I’ve heard through the grapevine that they are hunting down people who are bad mouthing them on social media and turning off their passes, not sure how true that is, but the rumor is flying. All the other Tahoe resorts got 20+ feet of snow this month and none of them are having the issues that Squaw is currently seeing.
Well Vail could own it = 100% open , 20$ epic burgers, and you'd be sharing it with thousands and thousands of your new "epic"friends.....LOL

Sounds like there's a lot going on here that I don't know. I kinda just thought people were complaining about areas not being open due to too much snow. I didn't really read comments and what not. Jump to conclusions. My bad...thanks for the insight Alka

I mean, that's the general gist of it, which in the grand scheme of things is a pretty minor/petty issue, especially in light of what happened this week. It's mostly Squaw/KSL's response to the complaints and HOW they are responding that's drawing the ire of the local community, IMO.

There'll be a Spring Break demo at Boreal on Thursday, 4/20. Corey and POORpiss will be there with a bunch of Slush Slashers and Mini Tree Hunters for anyone who wants to take one out for a spin.

Anyone know what Squaw's plans are past April? I know they're open, but don't know what terrain, what days (weekends only)?

Rumor is open through Memorial Day weekend /June 4th and then switching to weekends-only until July 4th. Will most likely have Mtn Run, Siberia, Gold Coast, and Shirley areas open until Memorial Day weekend.

I don't think they will stay open all summer/fall either, it's a marketing tactic to try and drive business for end of April/May, IMHO.

Cool. I can live with that.

Yea not a chance they stay open past July 4th. Don't care how much snow they (or Mammoth) have, I can't imagine they'll have enough folks to justify the cost of staying open.

Any locals know if Rose is any good right now? I haven't been there in like close to 10 years. Had a lot of fun when I did. Was planning on hitting Squaw this weekend since I thought they (+Alpine) were the only place still running, but I might check Rose out.

Just found out I'll be in North Tahoe next weekend surprisingly, so I think I'll be taking my shiny new Ikon Pass to Squaw. Never been, any recommendations? cc: @alkasquawlik

Yep, but I'm out of town this weekend. The infrastructure sucks and the lifts are slow, but Kwood is the shit.
