Janoskis are my office shoes, but I also work in a construction office so jeans and a hoodie means I've dressed up that day.

I mostly wear vans authentics and chukka lows when I'm not at work. When at work, I'm in a "business casual" environment in the hospital, and I started wearing Cole Haan shoes with the "Grand" soles about six or seven years ago, when Cole Haan was still part of Nike. The lunarlon-soled "Lunar Grand" ones I had first were a game changer, putting running shoe-style soles on a pair of wingtips or oxfords. Some of the sneaker head sites got pretty hyped on the early ones. I've stuck with Cole Haan since, even after they left Nike and lost the license for lunarlon. I have now had multiple pairs of the LunarGrand/GrandOS/OriginalGrand, ZeroGrand, and Grand Evolution styles, mostly wingtips. If you work in a setting where you have to wear "business casual" or even "business" attire and you find traditional dress shoes to be uncomfortable, I strongly recommend checking our Cole Haan's various shoes and boots with "Grand" soles. There are a bunch of different styles to choose from, but they all have athletic shoe soles.

those Cole Haan's are sick. when i worked at the last car dealership, there was a sales manager and salesman that each had a pair or two, but i never knew what they were or who made them. i always thought it was rad to have a dress shoe with a sneaker sole. whoever came up with that is probably very rich now.

i've been a big buyer of nike sb over the last few years, but mostly out of habit i guess cause i was an airmax 90 guy before. i probably need to switch over to a different brand though. while the janoski mids i have are the most comfy, slipper-like shoes i've probably ever had, the last 7 pairs of nike sb shoes have all been shit. the janoskis had the suede come unglued from the shell of the heel so they make a squack noise when i walk (as if the sole was wet on a smooth surface floor), and the other 6 pairs have all had the sole come unglued where they blister under the front of the foot (and some on the heel also). i'm not a big dood, nor am i very hard on shoes (or anything else really), and while i've longboarded in a couple pairs, i hardly ever drag my foot to stop. the older pairs that i do longboard it started to blister before i skated in them.

i had a lot of és shoes in middle school and early high school when i skateboarded. maybe i should go back to them. it's just really easy to find nike shoes for super cheap cause they make a lot, and i have baby feet.

Forgot to include among my favorite silouettes the adidas Busenitz Pro.  I have a few pairs and I'd hoard moar if the toebox wasn't so damn narrow.  A suede pair I've worn a lot in the rain has stretched out, but the others I can only wear for a few hours at a time.

There's a White/Green pair with gum sole that's dope af:

we’ve got a nice selection of NBnumeric at the shop, the 288 have become my go-to’s for being on my feet all day. also just picked up some rad 574’s.

Tried on some numeric 255s today. Damn did I want to love them! Looked so good, but they fit TERRIBLY

Also tried on vans ultra range skate hi mte. Think I needs em for the winter

Looking to replace my first year Adidas Jake boots with something else, but keep coming back to them, now in the 2.0 version. It looks like they addressed the very issue I was having that's making me retire my current pair (collapsing feeling in the foam on outside corner of the heel now that it's softened up over time).

Can't decide if I want the goretex version or reg suede, kinda skeptical about the "waterproof" suede.

Anyone know how the 2.0s fit? Same as the first year originals?

'waterproof suede' sounds like an oxymoron

I agree with all of this, especially the toe box and me not being able to wear mine as much as I'd like. A guy that subbed for one of my futsal teams last week played in a pair, it made me smile.

About f'n time surfing and skateboarding get in the olympics. These poorly run sports definitely need to feel the legitimacy that only the IOC can bring... if nothing else, to flush out all those performance enhancing drugs like P.O.T.

2020 Tokyo Olympics are going to be hype.

Has anyone shown them Dual Boards!?

I have somehow ended up on the email list for HANAH, the woo-woo "superfood" vendor touted by a bunch of pro snowboarders. Having looked at their website, it smacks of a bunch of new-age bullshit. I can only imagine that I ended up on their email list due to their connection to Travis Rice and the fact that I was on the the Asymbol mailing list after having made a couple of purchases. If that is indeed how I ended up on HANAH's mailing list, that sucks. Also, why do so many pro snowboarders buy into pseudoscience nonsense? Is it the general lack of education and a resulting inability to parse out the complete lack of demonstrated cause and effect? Whatever the reason, my instagram feed occasionally feels like it is inundated with magical crystals and ancient Eastern wisdom and food additives. Now I've got to weed that shit out of my email inbox, too.
