Current boards: Rome Blur 162, United Shapes Cadet 162, Dupraz D1+ 6', Moss Wingswallow 149, Moss Swallow 162, Weston Backwoods Split 163

Current Binders: NOW Drive, NOW Pilot, Spark Surge frankenbinder (originally Burton Hitchhikers)

Current Boots: Adidas Tactical Lexicon, Thirtytwo TM2 XLT Jones Edition (Adidas Tactical Adv in reserve in case Adidas pulls out of snowboarding)

Wife and I are hoping for a grom, so I expect riding to drop down to nil next year (more likely the next 3-5). So I will likely condensing the quiver. Most likely offload the Wingswallow and one of either the Blur or the Cadet... if I buy anything, I'd be to find an all-mountain freeride board that rides like a hybrid of those two and then sell both.

I also put down an advance on a custom pow surfer... but that was mostly an excuse to get some cashflow to a buddy whose livelihood's been impacted by coronavirus. Would love to have one, but doubt I'll be in the mountains enough to benefit from it.

interested in your thought on pilot vs drive.  Which do you ride on the cadet?

Also, what boards are you looking at that you consider a hybrid between cadet and blur?

@spacebird Drives are noticeably more responsive than the Pilots. I don't notice the different THAT much unless I'm dealing with super firm conditions. I rode Pilots and Drives in similarly bad conditions on the same board a week apart, and I noticed a huge difference in confidence. I also carve a lot more powerfully (especially at speed) on the Drives. Pilots are fine for 85% of days, but I definitely prefer the Drives.

Edit: Also I usually ride Pilots on the Cadet, but had Drives on my last resort days of the season and really liked it. Either can reasonably work, just depends on what you're looking for.

For the hybrid board, haven't dug that deep on it. The Cadet nose is a little too soft for me when things get spicy, and the Blur doesn't quite have the float to be my one-board workhorse when I can only travel with one board. My wish list would be something like: 162-164, at least 122 cm of effective edge, s-rocker, 7 or 8 / 10 stiffness, 8-8.5 m sidecut radius, at least 260 at the waist, mild taper (~10 mm).

Salomon Super 8 is something I've had my eye on for years and ticks off almost all of those boxes-- not quite sure if it's stiff enough. Not sure what else is out there that falls into that.

Have:

Gentemstick Giant Manta (will always have one of these in my quiver, my DD for 2 years now)

Gentemstick Chaser (thought about selling/trading but edge got dented in board bag traveling from Japan and now I probably have to do some minor work b/c topsheet is lifting from the edge a bit).

Burton Con Artist re-issue 158 (found a minty one being shipped to me this week)

Burton Backseat driver for the hood

Burton Promise Land Split

Adding:

Korua Tranny +

Cardiff Goat Enduro 158 or 162

 Interesting:

Burton Straight Chuter

gonna try and make the move to the west coast next year. i'm in need of boots(idk what yet)

a jacket (32 jackets are really bad)

goggles (the airbrake xl's are kinda bad for me anyways)

and depending on if work ever opens back up, id love to break into splitboarding/ get a powsurfer. i have very little experience with backcountry and touring but im graduating in 3 weeks so this will be the first winter of my life that i can really give travelling and touring a shot.

@mikehoncho

That quiver is outrageous.

Which do you find you ride most?

Any idea what the waist width is on that size HH, can't find the 2021 catalogue.
