@lomax

How'd you like the Smoke? Piqued my interest before, but got a little worried about the short EE on the 55, esp w/ our icy east-coast conditions here.

I havent had a chance to ride it yet, but after loving the gun so much and the smoke being part of the same line AND similar shape/design to the jones mind expander, it was a must buy for me. found a good deal and I cant wait to shred it.

Ah, makes sense. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it, whenever you get some mileage down 💪🏻.

^ that is one of the best pow shapes ever made- I loved that board, until they changed the camber profile and construction, but the shape remains the same and I'm sure you will love it. its a pow only type of day for that thing, enjoy! and let us know how it is

did you have the 3d cored version, @lomax? demoed the new one and had fun, would definitely want it in a 160+ though.

staxwood has been ripping on it in the park up at hood this summer, though.

@lomax

Its been re-designed this year so has no 3d balsa core and its shorter and wider. It has a progressive sidecut too. Should be a ripper! If the weather sorts it self out here and stops raining I may get to test it.

@colslawed I think thats the 2021 fusion he's on there, looks similar though with the squashed tail.

ah, you're right. both blue/yellow, but the fusion's more yellow, slash more blue. but yeah, different than the last few quiver Slash's construction.

Hyped on these beauties. Demos from my local, but still in new-like condition. Excited to try 'em, sits right in that mid-stiff range I prefer most. Gonna try both the hard & soft bushings, along with the "surf" & "freeride" sides of the ankle straps. To see which combo hits the sweet spot for me.

I stick to the softest pads or bushings on all my NOWz. Though, the overall difference I find to be quite negligible but in my mind the leverage is doing the real work and the bushings are dampening vibration.

Curious what others think/do-do though.

On my Drives, I run mediums in the front and soft in the back. On Pilots, stiff in the front and medium in the back. I feel like having a more cush feel in the heels helps me hold my line better on a deep heelside turn.

I've also heard of folks doing stiff on the outside, softer on the insiders... or a buddy of mine who goes front lateral stiff, front medial medium, back medial soft, back medial medium.

I'm suddenly feeling inadequate
