@gd all top-end factories too (GP87, Playmaker, Nobile). 👍🏼👍🏼

(Reminds me, I need to research any recent production changes and update my 2 year old spreadsheet.)

The quiver went kinda out of hand when started collecting old boards. Missing 2-3 boards in the pics but downsizing before the season starts. If anyone is interested of any board pm me.

New signings ready to go, lol.

59 Pencil / 56 Banker

20200921 133818

I was thinking of grabbing the exact same boards for this year, Pencil 59 & Banker 56. How do they compare handflexing and camber-wise?

Sweet quiver indeed!

that’s a pretty perfect quiver

Thanks, dude. Feel totally content going into this season. Nothing else really interesting me much for this upcoming winter.

just realized I'll have a flip-flop of this combo once my Banker arrives, going 159 there to pair with my Cafe Racer 156

Loll nice, was going back and forth between the 56 & 59 initially. Went with the 56 Banker esp as it will likely be my DD for my local, which isn't very big. And will be the one I take park laps with, also. Look forward to your thoughts on the 59, regardless. Esp that we both ride similar-ish hills & similar conditions lol 😪.

Thanks, dude. Excited to get on them asap, that's for sure.

And hand-flex wise (thru the center) Pencil is a touch stiffer. Which makes sense, as Nitro has stated they made the Banker slightly softer in the middle, compared to the tips, iirc. The Pencil has a more traditional directional flex to it, slightly softer in the nose and progressively stiffer towards the tail. But overall, both close in flex range (~7.5/10). But will know better once get them both on snow, of course. Will def try to update when I do.

And camber-wise, do you mean height? If so, Banker has slightly more camber to it. Didn't measure exact number, but looks around the ~6mm range. Whereas the Pencil looks more around ~4mm ish, give or take?

Pencil

Banker

Yeah those camber shots were exactly what I was hoping for, thanks! Both boards def looking good there.

Unfortunately, EU stores near me will just keep the boards in the back for another month or so, so I will have to wait a bit before seeing them in person.

If I get another board before winter,  I will send you all free stickers again

Daily: US orbit 57

Secondary: Hammerhead 71

Fringe season rocks: Used US cadet 62

And of course squash split 63 (thanks @parker)

OG Squash will come out for comparison to orbit, but that’s what I expect overall.

I love riding different decks regularly, but over the last couple years I have felt the shift toward honing in on a select pair. I think I’ve narrowed it down to a few select flavors that I like for all conditions, so now it just depends on my mood, hah. Ain’t gonna slim down the collection either way. Hoping to sprinkle in the fishes, blunt diamond & diamond blade. Everything has a new potential with these NOW drives

Heh. My daily will also be an Orbit 57. Also looking like my rock board will be the Cadet 162.

All available riders in the quiver. Got a buyer for the Blur / Anthem. Love that board but want to dial things back a bit.

image

  • Moss Wingswallow 149: Likely selling this, but currently a change of pace carver and medium pow days.
  • US Orbit 57: Daily driver for powerful carving, speed, little pow, little bit of everything.
  • Moss Swallow 162: Pow in tighter spaces, change of pace surfy carver deck.
  • Rome Blur / Anthem 162: Tentatively, former DD. Love this deck but a wanted something wider with some taper. If Rome made a 164 with 5-10 mm of taper, I'd be set.
  • US Cadet 162: Rock board. Honestly still lot of life, but I'd rather ride on a high quality board that's a bit beat up than on some crappy ancient beater I pick up for $20 on Craigslist. Life's too short to be spending time on shitty boards haha.
  • Dupraz D1+ 6': Open space pow board, need for speed type of days when I can expect some space inbounds.

Backcountry quiver:

image
  • Weston Pow Surfer 157: Bought it for wind hold and red alert backcountry days. Keep in the car in case I see cool spots on the highway. Never pow surfed before, so we'll see.
  • Weston Backwoods 163 split: Looking forward to riding this more, only got it out a couple times after getting it next year. I was planning on really putting it through its paces last spring, but I shut down my season because of COVID concerns.

Yep, no taper is the only thing. Also when I bought mine, they didn’t yet make the 164W.

Sidecut on the Deep Thinker is a little too tight for my tastes (although haven’t ridden one).

And Ravine Select has that 3d nose and tight sidecut.
