im trying to get my hands on a pair here in eu actually.

have also been looking at the deluxe snosurf boot.

has anyone seen any of these boots in real life?

might also cut the sole of the sorells and vulc a new better one on there. =P

Sorel has two types of soles, the  zig zag witch is weak and wears out easy and the Caribou model might be what you are looking for, more aggressive cleats, Vans also has their own Sorel style boot, i'm a soft boot dude too, i've been trashing the base model boot market to find what works best for me

i got the "old" caribou so flimsy slippery sole.

i want a flat sole thats not to stiff and that grips enough not to worry about it all the time.

if i cant find the linerless vans i might try the hi standard og and beat them with a bat and sauna with them for a week to get them mushed in.

The footloose from Deeluxe is really nice and comfy. They should have one that's a little higher and with a liner that's more locked in as well (suspect the linerless is all that), but as it is, it's great for snowsurfing, snowshoeing and when not using highbacks.

Interested to hear your modding process (assuming there will be one based on your last Tridents).

It will start with custom footbeds that I'll get made in the next week or two, then I'll have to ride them a day or two, but I'm pretty sure they will end up with a break pad ( thicken the tongue ) and then some padding on the fore foot to stop foot roll. I have the same problem universally in all boots due to super skinny, narrow, low volume feet, with low ankles...

But I had DC Judges in the past that I loved. DCs work better for touring than the Tridents. The tridents don't have a lace liner, which sucks for touring because I love to run my top BOA loose for a better stride, but the no liner lacing let my feet move around too much and caused blisters. With the DCs, I can keep the lace liner tight and lower BOA tight while skinning and not get blisters, but run the top BOA loose for a nice easy stride.

This showed up today. AK Dispatcher Ultralight Jacket   Been wanting something like this for years. Super light weight, just enough to take the bite out of wind while skinning up on a tour and/or to keep the snow off my base layer. I run super hot so I am usually down to just my Ninja suit on top while skinning, but there are those days when something would be nice that offered just a tad bit of protection without making you really run any hotter. Can't wait to try it...

Looks good. It’s not really that cold in Southeast AK most of the time, so when splitting, I almost always end up in my light homeschool layer & nothing more. If it is snowing/raining, I will keep my jacket on and just deal with the heat.

Homeschool ghost shell is also awesome, maybe even better than that ^^. I have one in a smaller size for casual use, like rainy summer hikes, but I don’t have one sized for snowboarding. Super light, super breathable, legit 20k waterproofing (not just DWR), and no hanging liner at all.

I have hiked in it (summer) in the rain, and sometimes end up more dry than I do when it’s not raining and I’m just hiking in a tshirt. Perspiration!
