Got Backseat Driver season end closeout + currency conversion = Like whoa. Should be fun.

Lol did you buy this from the The Circle in Whistler? I came close to pulling trigger on that one. Ultimately decided to just keep the Weston Pow Surfer I posted earlier.

Yep. I've been day dreaming of looking like a bambi legged child twizzlering down local overpasses and ditches and so I had been keeping an eye out for a snowsurfer on sale. Couldn't pass this one up at that price.

I wanted to say where but I didn't want to get them in trouble if for some reason something something shipping to US something.

Ultra’s will most likely live on the Annex to channel full Iguchi vibes, Ice White Team Forces will go on the US.

Just pulled the trigger on an Amplid Milligram 168.  I was going to hold off for next year's with the cool low-albedo topsheet, but they are discontinuing the 168, and I would prefer that to its 166 replacement.

I'm pretty excited to get my mitts on this one.  I'll put it on a scale whenever it shows up (it's coming from deep within Europe, presumably) and see how that stacks up against the advertised specs.

For anyone else interested, I ordered from Snowcountry, and their current markdown is the highest I've seen for the Milligram (-30%).

Had a lot of fun in my neighborhood on one this winter.  Super light (as expected).  Laps with my buddy's snowmobile.  My buddy stole it after using it since he is used to his homemade plywood surfer that weights prob 20 lbs haha.

@alonzo You can get a bigger discount directly from Amplid if you're associated with the industry.  Worth checking out before it ships!

Thanks for the heads up, man. Unfortunately, they don't have any 168s left for the season.

My next split will be a Milligram.  IMO their specs are dialed for splitting.  Bought from Snowcountry and they were great to deal with.

I hope this works out for you. I have heard a lot of self-destruct stories about the Milligram. The reliability on that particular deck has not been good. I do think they tried to make some adjustments to counter that, and I wanna say it was part of the reason that they moved production...

Yeah, my hopes are very much the same.  I haven't grenaded a split before, but that would be pretty lame.

I have a good feeling about it, though.  In addition to moving production, they've also beefed up the design a bit this year as well, which is a big part of what attracts me to it now.  The 2020 model is actually heavier now than previous iterations, with more camber, a stiffer flex, and 9 mms of extra width in the 168 compared to last year's.  They also slightly increased the ratio of birch to balsa and paulownia.

Given all that, and the fact that this is also the last year for the 168, I felt like this was the Goldilocks model for me.

@tp1kenobi

My previous experience with them was good too.  I ordered some marked down Julbo glacier glasses from them, and they showed up really fast with no duties, taxes or brokerage fees owing.

First impression out of the box (since it’s going to be awhile before I can get it on some snow).

Heavy, like heaviest board in my quiver heavy. Loads of camber😁Stiff but not a plank. Tuned, waxed up but, no structure in the base. Haven’t been able to get anything “new” in awhile so I’m excited about spending next few months daydreaming about riding this.
