I just watched this:

and he doesn't say there's any sintered material in the TNT base. Maybe there's another video with it better explained?

I haven't had to deal with any shots that go through the sintered layer on tnt yet,

I'm having trouble understanding this. If the sintered layer is the outer layer (touching the snow), then it's sintered and absorbs wax. If the sintered layer is below an extruded layer then the wax never makes it to the sintered layer and doesn't get absorbed. There's no point in having a sintered layer below an extruded layer or vice versa.

I bet they've tried different versions, but mine is 60%ish clear sintered on the outer with some structure to it, and 40% extruded that they printed graphics on. Supposed to be some fluoro additives in the sintered, but who knows.

tnt is shit imho.

give me 9000 sintered black base!

then add some of the Hertel super hot sauce wax that supra introduced me to and I'm going back to the future speeds

I seem to be one of the very few who has never once had an issue with it. But it’s more like I don’t mind it - it’s not something I would ever choose. And on a split? Gargle my bugles. Split needs to be hard.

What board do you have? Do you have a link to anything that states that 60/40 sintered to extruded ratio?

Greenest.. Baselayup is sorta visible. I wouldnt trust anything written about it, as the shop and several sites had both the core and the base wrong, but the outer layer doesnt peel like extruded. It could be recycled sintered, which is labeled whatever when companies use it, but is extruded sintered material. Yes snowboards has released some info on that at least. Anyways, no speed issues on the base. I can feel the mag slowing me down in crusty snow sometimes, but its mostly a jump board.

looks like they just changed the core/base for 2019, from aspen/columbia gold/paulownia w/ TNT base to just aspen/paulownia w/ eco-sublimated TNT, so depending on which year you have and which year’s specs you’re looking at, yes they may be “wrong” from what you have, but 🤷🏻‍♂️ (also, how do you know what the core is if the specs listed are supposedly wrong?).

Because copy/paste is a thing, but what they write on the topsheet/sticker is probably right. Not that I'm unhappy with it, the board feels great and I like the C3 stuff.

I’m curious what the sticker/topsheet lists as the specs, then.

What you wrote. Went from horsepower to original power construction, and it said sintered/tnt, but I think that was just meant for what they offer C3 in. So kinda doubt there's much of a difference from TNT to Eco-TNT, but it's whatever. Think even Lib's site was wrong. It's still listed with 19.5" min stance, while mine is 20.25", but for all I know that could have been a mistake in production.

And I bought the SplitBRD...got misty in the shop and didn't think much about the base until I was actually lagging on the flats.  They didn't have the GNU split out when I got the BRD as the specs on the BRD hit everything minus the base.

I felt the same way about it, almost still went with one but then bought Parker’s squash split instead. Great shape for sure.

Nonsense. TNT has 2 layers but they're both extruded.
