Official Fullbag Snowboards Thread
I love heavier snow.. right up until it gets noticeably sticky even with good wax & zardoz. For me, thick stuff & tight spaces usually = older fish or blunt diamond. CAXX was real good too. But... I love the way I can ride the HH, and it’s very comfortably maneuverable. As @Lonz knows, crushing thick stuff with a nose/board like this is 🥰
Hype hype hype
here is a screenshot pair from the very first turn, first run on Thursday. It was cold and I almost fell.
Haven't ridden it in super heavy wet pow in the trees, though imagine that would be a workout with any board.
True BUT the sorta-glossy/sorta-matte texture of the topsheet means that wet heavy snow slides right off. [grin]
Ooh! Cheat codes. Gotta look into this!
Someone is selling a 162 Blunt Diamond on Snowboard Trader for $340 CAD. That's a steal for you Americans.
$260 USD right now. Even with shipping, $300 is a nice price for a sick board like that.
I’m tempted by it, actually, but I’m going to try to keep the second generation graphic family together. I put my feelers out there to Mig in case he finds a 62 available.
i'd jump right on that BD if it were a 56
Speaking of the BD, been bored and not riding much this week, going back through some old footage. Forgot I made this little edit on the blunt 56 from late February 2018. I think I didn’t originally post it because I felt like I was riding weak that day, but I kind of like the feel of it.
It finally dumped in Niseko overnight and all day. More than a foot of blower. Rode my 62 Blunt Diamond for the first time. Still figuring it out but I'm pretty sure I'm keeping it.
Went full on trendy-carver matchy-matchy outerwear today, haha.
How do you feel about the length of your hammerhead? could you see yourself wanting to go even longer?
I could see the 181 being fun, but “unrealistic” for me. I wanted a “realistic” bigger board that I could ride any day, and the 71 is plenty. It’s a “short” big gun
Mellow hammerhead cruise
Conditions firmed up a bit after warming and freezing, but we avoided frozen death. Off trail is still pretty soft and silky, though not very deep anymore, but great groomers today. Firm pack with good cords, really locked in edge feel. Hammerhead rules! So smooth and easy to ride, yet powerful and won’t let loose when on edge.
The Supernaut is great(the best board I've ever ridden) on hardback and ice so the Hammerhead must be even better?
Well, lots more edge, bigger sidecut, stiffer.... it’s a gun for sure! But the way it’s smooth and easy, I think most people would really like it, even if they think it’s way oversized.
