pretty sure the Season account was rebranded from Eric Pollard's last video project, so probably a lot of carryover followers from that which might not mean much.

So I rode with Season's Japanese distributor today. Got to try the 152 Forma in zarame (Japanese for corn snow) down super sawas (giant gullies). The board was surprisingly stiff and pretty fun. Basically a cambered Storm Chaser.

More interesting is what the guy told me.

Season EQPT is 1/3 owned by… drumroll… Nidecker. 1/3 by… wait for it… EVO (that's why you get free tune-ups in the US), and 1/3 by the two dudes. He says the interest in Japan has been overwhelmingly more for the skis. Go figure.

Same guy distributes NOW Bindings so I got to fondle a pair hanger 3.0 bases. Basically the contact points are ever so slightly further out, and the kingpin is no longer a screw but a post with a half-turn locking action. Stick it in, turn. No more fucking around poking t-nuts out. But we knew this already, thanks to @kimchi 🙂

interesting about 1/3 Nidecker ownership. wasn't it confirmed that they're made at SWS?

He was down here in Hakuba last weekend. Rode the 158 Nexus. About as boring of a board as you can get. Essentially a discount US Cadet with a carboard core. He didn't have the Aero, but on specs that one might be a bit better.

On the plus side got to ride the K2 Excavator in 154. Pretty fun deck. However, the most fun I had was on the Ride Psychocandy. Always dug the shape and glad they made it unisex with bigger sizes. I rode the 150, which already existed, but would probably swap my 152 Dancehaul for a 154.

@bopuc2

i’ve been looking at the Forma.. can you tell us more about how it rode? A cambered storm chaser sounds good!
The Good Ride just ‘reviewed’ it but I take their reviews with a grain of salt..

@shredder

Sorry man, I can't really say more because the board was way too small for me X the conditions. (Buddy mentioned he had a Season board I could try, and when I rolled up he handed me that 152. Not what I would have chosen. I ride 160 and up…) So I didn't have a great time with it but I don't know if that's because of the board itself or the mismatch. I mean, it turned, I got a few good craves, but it couldn't support my size (nor was it designed to I imagine).
