don't think those were ever on the menu.

"just" the Pow Wrench, HTH, and Straight Chuter, which is a lot, and that's just the FT options.

So it would seem that the mystery core alone is 550$ more expensive than the core of the Custom X?

It's just an observation I guess. The core and the price is the only difference, so easy to make that assumption, and there are less xx models than mystery.

I'm buying snowsticks so can't really complain too much about that price.

For sure. But it’s interesting how a slightly different core and a name modifier will move the price by $550.

You guys are confusing cause and effect

when has Burton ever done extra/special size releases (never mind splits) of the Japanese-designed boards? Stella, Con Artist (XX the exception), Jaguar, Moon Buggy, Working Stiff, Branch Manager, Sensei, what else? These are one-offs usually (as per the Japanese "craftsman" ethos Burton tries to do with them, see "Mine" jeans malarky…)

@bopuc2

Could have a point, but I hope they keep building on it, those specs has worked fine for me for almost 20 years, and it will work in the future too. I could justify getting it as a split, since I have the old system, but I dunno as a solid, 3d works with new bindings.

I saw it being hyped on DMQ but with 153/246 sizing it’s rather unreasonable

Well, yes, I agree, kudos to Burton for keeping the original specs. I just don’t see how anyone these days would fit on it. Which I guess is not the point of this reissue anyway.

Yeah, I have the original and i could ride it with 10.5's. I had those 'gas pedal' foam stickers that pushed the boot toes up/lengthened the baseplate that probably let me get away with it.
