Anyone ridden last years Slush Puppy?  I got the new 3D Kilroy, but after looking at the specs, its identical to the Slush Puppy.  I had last years 3D Kilroy, but this one looks like a completely different board.

Nmb had one

I asked Lesley (hardgoods manager if I am not mistaken) about the two and she said they are the same board, construction and spec.  Slush Puppy was my favorite board out of my quiver last year. I wouldn’t downsize on it if you ride more than just park. I have the 155, in 165-170, it’s awesome. I ran it with Stratas on it the first day and didn’t like it, put Atlas on it and the board really came alive. Pretty stout feeling but I wouldn’t claim it is stiff.  For a directional twin I think it’ll handle all conditions well. Didn’t get to have it in any deep snow but ripped on groomers, park, and the bit of slush we got before the season ended.  Decent amount of camber, flat zones aren’t too long. Love it and will probably be my daily for this season.

Good to know, thanks.  Sounds like it might be a more fun board than I originally thought.  Didnt hate, but didnt love 19 3D kilroy.  This might be mor along the lines of the one hitter, which I wanted.  Got the 55, even for SoCal riding its not a downsize from my park board, hopefully its fun.

I like that the 3D is only on the nose, I didn’t like how last year it had all four corners turned up.  It has a little set back too. It reminds me of the Custom, just a lot better/more fun for some reason haha.

It is, I got lucky and scored it off of Frankie (old Burton TM). Fair price too. Love/Nice Guy is my favorite twin..if the 155 was like 5mm wider I would die happy.

Nice.  All 4 corners 3D was the twin aspect, but this years seems more practical.

I have a Love 55 I still need to ride.

So this is fascinating.

Compare the Slush Puppy and 3D Kilroy on Burton's site and yeah, same specs. Slightly different blah blah about what it's made for (weird).

https://www.burton.com/us/en/p/mens-burton-3d-kilroy-camber-snowboard/W21-217101.html

https://www.burton.com/us/en/p/burton-slush-puppy-purepop-camber-snowboard/H20-219201.html

Now. Pull up Burton's old page for the Con Artist and compare…

https://www.burton.com/us/en/p/mens-burton-family-tree-con-artist-snowboard/H18-149621.html

The basic shape is eerily similar.

Looking at the specs, adjusting for the different lengths offered… it's *almost* the same board. Con Artist is a tapered and setback Slush Puppy (or, SP is an untapered, more centered CP)…

Different camber profile and flex though too, which definitely changes the handling/ride, obvs.

But there's some roots there. Maybe. 🙂

The second year Kilroy custom looks like it took inspiration for shape from the con artist too, still looking for a 154.

I picked up one of those Kilroy Customs at the beginning of last season and thought it was way more than just some park fuck-off board that it's marketed as.  Hot little ripper but ultimately too narrow for my size 12 boots after a few days on it, traded it for an ounce of grass and replaced it with a One Hitter that I'm loving as a daily driver.
