Some boards are meant to be ridden longer though, like if you ride <150 before, you might want a 161 in the Sensei, and a 155-160, you go for the 170. Wouldn't pay much attention to the weight recommendations on that. I have a 168 with 252 ww and a 170 with 254 ww, both from Burton. They aren't crazy stiff, because they are made that way. Brands like rad air and pogo, or lib tech for that matter, who have boards from 170-200, don't make them with 300 ww to match relative to a 155 pipe board either.

Does anyone know when the Late Winter 3D boards are supposed to be released?

Well, this happened also lol.

59 FT Straight Chuter

20201129 154603
20201129 153716
20201129 153410

The specs of the 59 (25.5cm ww/7.9m sidecut) and the flex and build (CX-esque) were hard to resist 😅. The sidecut is just under my ideal of 8m, as well as my preferred ww minimum of ~25.6cm. Love how much camber it has, also (~6mm). Pretty excited to get on this one, actually.

Have you tried it on snow? How does it perform?

I am thinking to get one but cannot decide on 155 or 159. It seems to be a beefy stiff board and I am just a bit afraid 159 will be too much of a board for average days.

Not yet, but thankfully some hills are finally opening next week. Will def be getting on it then and will come back with initial thoughts. Really excited to get on this one.

And the ww and sidecut of the 55 is too skinny/tight for my preference, so went with the 59. Board is light and feels very CX-esque. Pumped.

I swear when we first saw the specs on the chuter, the 62 had an 8.8m radius. Am I imagining that? Funny how they/reviews talk about it having a big sidecut, yet it is not.

Don't remember exactly, but possibly? 😅

And yeah, everything I've seen/read on it so far makes it sound like that. But as you mentioned, it isn't lol.

I was under the same impression that the sidecut fits the name of going straight. But judging from GD's pics the sidecut does look like ~8m.

I have no idea what is the what or why of anything, but when boards don't match presale specs (as they sometimes don't) I sometimes wonder if it's not just a manufacturing fuckup and they have to roll with it.

From what I remember it's the same specs on the chuter. Think it makes sense from seeing Danny and Terje riding it. I'm pretty sure it's not the best for really icy chutes, but get some good steering snow in there, it should be great.

Finally got a '21 HTH (156W).  Not sure I have a reason to hold onto my Deep Thinker any longer.  I've only ridden the HTH on groomers so far but it's SO much more fun than the DT on the man made ribbons of white.  I think it's because the tail is a bit softer.easier to pop back to regular.

Enjoy it 🙂 I am also considering buying one because of all the hype about it, although I cannot decide whether to buy 156 or 156W. I am in 10.5 US Photons (I hope I'll be able to size down to 10 US Adidas Tactical - but that is not such a big difference) and in the past I was more satisfied with slightly narrower boards than wider ones. I am just overthinking it for a few weeks now - and I hate it.

Yes, 252 is really tight... May I ask you what are your riding angles?
