I dunno, I don’t think most of his footage is slowed down. Doesn’t really matter anyway, it’s the difference between how he comes into the jump vs how huge he goes. It’s still disproportionate regardless of video playback speed. I don’t get it either. He must be super on point with using all potential energy available, all while looking extremely nonchalant.

Yup, forgot my italics.

it kind of messes with my head - like the approach speed, the size of the hit, how casual he is - then...?!?!?!?

weird though that he’s on a super DOA but then it’s a mercury.

Him being a bean pole helps.  Less gravitational pull on the rocket man when you are 110lbs sopping wet.  Look at Nico, guy is skin and bones too!

It’s true, those guys are tiny. I was 145-150 forever and I can understand the feeling of lightness.

Being 175 now helps go faster & set my edges better though 😜

Why weird? The DOAs have about the same amount of  camber as the Mercury, though the Mercury transitions to reverse camber and the DOAs transition to flat and then reverse camber. Overall, the Mercury is kind of the DOA's bigger brother. Slightly more aimed at soft snow, a little bit stiffer, and with a slightly more aggressive sidecut. Look at the dimensions of the 158 SuperDOA compared to the 157 Longo Mercury. Pretty similar. I imagine that they feel very similar on snow, with the Mercury probably being a little easier to keep on top of soft snow.

I'm pretty fond of the graphics. but i have a thing for primary colors and certain abstract art.

Longos boost is bonkers.

But so is his super natural touch downs. Just rides away from these airs in the most uncanny relaxed manner like he barely even noticed he has left orbit.

Yeah I’ve seen clips of him on the mercury, so shouldn’t be weird, and capita doesn’t seem to tie riders to boards like some other companies. DOA and mercury feel really really different to me on snow, but that’s just me, and my DOA is not super.

Today on EZLoungin: Nerds find out that focusing on a millimeter difference in camber doesn't matter. See you all from up in the air, fatties

I really enjoy watching Kevin Backstrom air or pow landing on both DOA and Mercury on various conditions. He makes riding Japow with a twin board look like nothing.

Backstrom & Nico are prob my 2 fave riders to watch, from a freestyle standpoint esp. Way they grab & spin is so silky and uber tweaked. Thing of beauty.
