Airgogs fog up for me where Squad XLs don't (haven't tried M4s). Life is a series of contrasts apparently.

I love the look of Squad XLs and mag, but it’s hard to try a new goggle when you have one that you know works. Boards, bindings, and boots that don’t fit are always easy to re-sell, but goggles sound like a pain

I have fogged every goggle that I have ever tried. That's a long list. It's not that I don't fog Airgoggles. It's that the fog clears so much more easily and so much more quickly because of the amount of venting. If they fog while I am in the lift line, they usually clear just from the breeze on the chair ride back up to the top of the hill. If they still have some fog when I get to the top, they definitely clear within the first 15 or 20 seconds of riding. No other goggle I have tried works so well. For everything else, once it's fogged it's done until I can dry them out on the defroster vent in my car or an air hand dryer in the lodge restroom.

@matty

Well said same here.

I wish AB would make Rose Blue Baker, rose blue lens on the inside and clear lens over, would probably last longer.

@matty, you looking to pass on that pterry?

I'll probably go Smith Squad anyway. Anyone have major Smith lens preferences?

I'm torn between regular Squad and XL though (and can't try them on due to COVID). Squad XL comes with two ChromaPop lenses whereas Squad only comes with one and a standard yellow which is a big bummer. But I'm not a big fan of oversized goggles and the regular Squad would likely fit better and work with my helmet.

I have 2 sets of Smith IO7s. One came with an Everyday Green Chromapop lens and a Storm Chroma, the other an Everyday Violet Chroma and Storm Chroma. I don't notice the difference between the two Everyday shades while riding, but I like having the everyday-ish lens with the flat light / storm lens. The Storm Chroma still sucks in flat light, but it sucks less....

I personally hate super low VLT, heavily mirror lenses. They look cool but I can't see for shit in the shadows or flat light.

^^ My dark lens really only gets used in spring and summer on Hood.

I have a pair of Chromapop Solarchrome (or whatever the dark AF tint is), Photochromatic Chromapop because PNW, and the yellow tint Chromapop.

Are you looking to trade another pair of airgoggles for these ones. I might be interested in that. Or trade straps? Or are these your favoritist goggles ever and you really, really want them? If so, message me. We can probably work something out. I can mix and match frames and straps. They came with light blue frames on the gray pterry strap, but I can swap the frames for red or green.

Also: does anybody else want to mix up their airgoggle strap options? I have the white script "Airblaster" on black one, the red/yellow cobra dog, and the white "Air" on black. Happy to talk about trades.

As for Squad vs Squad XLs: I only had the XLs. They're not that oversized. They only fit me a little bit taller than Airgoggles and not much (if any) wider. Smaller fit for me than M4s.

Yea, I might go for a full "dark AF" tint if I rode glaciers or above treeline in the French Alps... but in most of the Sierras, you're constantly dealing with shadows either from peaks or from trees, even when conditions are sunny.

Me too.  But until then, Smith Squad.
