The Official K2 Thread
Thanks for the feedback. Hoping the SP51 works out. Will report back once I’ve had a few laps when the season here on the west coast starts up.
If you start doing steeper/open terrain/faster stuff with the skipjack it feels like you are pushing it. Kind of like it tells you to slow it down a bit. Thats how i feel on it at least. And thats why i love it for deep tree days.
Anybody else wish the simple pleasures weren’t as wide? I pretty much like everything about the looks of the 56 other than the waist. If it had the waist from the 151, I would probably already own one
yea. I own the SP 151 and the 87 155. If they made the 56 a bit narrower I'd own that one instead. The 51 is more than capable for how small it is but I do wish it had a bit more length.
Just traded my Ravine for a new 19/20 Party Platter 147. It's the shop all blue one, stoked to get on it. Haven't had any "short-fat" boards in awhile. Anyone have time on the cambered version?
damn k2 skiboarding team is stacked for next season. swooping up pat moore now sage on top of eddy, ciszek, kuzyk, belzile, wachniak
Has anyone tried the k2 far out split bindings? How are they with voile vs sparks pucks?
It's a Voile binding, so it's great with Voile pucks. Spark uses the Voile puck system.
awwwww so is it just a rebranded voile speed rail? I didnt realize that. I like the look of the high back and straps more than the speed rail also the colorway is much better than the voile stuff as well.
its just the voile speed rail baseplate and touring brackets with k2 highbacks and straps. Exactly like the spark/burton hitchhiker and spark/nitro vertical
got a K2 instrument 157 on its way paired up with contact pros.
Carpet boarding 2/5 snowflakes
i really like my instrument (154), do you think you'll find the contact pros too soft for that deck?
last years i have been on suuper soft boots and softish bindings no matter how stiff board im riding.
i rode with even softer bindings for flight attendant, otto and nitro mtn.
im sure it will be great 🙂
How's camber height and tail kick on the Instrument? Haven't been able to find a decent profile shot.
Current daily driver's a Korua Stealth I picked up mid-last season. Great for turning. Riding it switch is... rough. VERY little tail kick, and the notch on the tail makes it likelier to catch rather than deflect chop. Switch is do-able, but I'm always nervous even popping 180s off small step downs into anything that isn't an immaculate groomer.
I'm hoping to level up a bit more in the park and switch this year. Instrument feels like a good happy-medium for a wide directional board that'll be fun to carve around but I won't be terrified landing switch.
i left the board in storage so cant take profile pic.
the tail kick is plenty for switch fun.
