The Official Korua Shapes Thread
54 TF was the most fun out of all the Korua's I've ridden/owned to date, for my weight & set up at least. But similar to @parker and a few other's sentiments, I prefer the United Shapes line more (mainly the Orbit). Still stiff and rips, but has a bit more liveliness that I prefer in a charger ride.

just a joy to rail around all day, even if my early season legs are soft
Absolutely crushes pretty much all conditions, especially powder. This will be my third or fourth season on it already...can’t remember exactly but it was their first year with sintered bases. Still looks new aside from the top sheet yellowing a bit
Definitely need to get a Dart and a Tf split or a Pencil split.
also really want some US
First day on the Dart on early season groomers, some good snow and some chunky frozen shit. Initial impression is that it's like a stiffer, burlier Cheetah. Not as turny as the Cheetah, but the Dart is super stable and carves like a beast (for a 56). So far it handles exactly as I'd hoped, and I'm sure it'll be stellar in pow. Which is good because last season I destroyed my venerable Fish 09 LTD, which was my go-to powder day board.
Between the HTH and now the Dart, I'm beyond stoked for the season to get fully underway.
Thanks man, RIP Fish Ltd. That board was easily my all-time favorite snowboard. I should have known better though, late season exposed granite in the trees etc. I haz the dumb.
But as a Fish aficionado AND a guy that likes digging trenches on le groomers, I think the Dart is probably right up your alley.
Rode the 57 Tranny Finder today .
Went into the day with some apprehension about this deck. I loved the 54 when I rode it on Monday, but the kooks at Good Ride made it sound as though there was a HUGE difference in the stiffness between the 54 & 57.
They kinda called the 57 unrideable.
While it was a little bit stiffer then the 54, it is not a major difference. Still was able to make low speed carving turns with no issues and got into some powder pockets today and it turned no problem, even at low speeds and in low angle pow.
Ordered an Otto 57 last night, supposed to get it on Monday. Will probably wait till next season to grab a Dart 56, but I will get one at sometime.
Really looking forward to the Otto. Will make groomer days more interesting and will actually good for me to be able to ride full runs switch, which will help strengthen my quad in the leg that I got the Knee Replacement done.
Also did two short laps on the Tranny Finder Split 57 today as well at the resort. It is for sure a bit softer than the solid 57, which is good IMO.
I got the DPS Phantom treatment on all these decks and they told me to ride the deck inbounds a few runs or else the skins may not stick very well, that's how slick the Phantom treatment is. So that's why the two laps on it, felt like a kook though riding a split in-bounds on lifts.
I can see how some peeps that have tried this brand may not like them. They are not soft poppy decks, they have a shitload of camber, and fuck a few people that tried them ( and didn't like ) had 63 and 68 in length, so I can only imagine those would really feel like a plank if you were used to softer poppy Capita type decks.
After reading this entire fucking thread one night, and then listening to the Nicholas Wolken interview on Standing Sideways, it appears as though quality has gotten better and a few thing s have changed, such as full wrap edges now. They switched factories and like any brand after you have a few years under your belt, shit gets better.
I'm fucking sold on these things.
