@psklt This thing's been on my mind since you posted it.

Is this the 21-22 model? Can't seem to find any info online about it. (Just contacted Korua directly, see what they say.)

Any further thoughts on the board? 🙂

@vanni heh… let me be more explicit… 😉

I was referring to this post:

https://ezloungin.com/ezlounge/gear/the-official-korua-shapes-thread/paged/82/#post-50824

I know the Escalator. I have handled 2 of them in Japan. It's been in Korua's line for at least 2 seasons, right? The one @psklt posted about has a base material topsheet, instead of the usual textured black topsheet of Korua's Plus line. My understanding is that that is new for the 21-22 release.

That said, I may losing my marbles and did not notice the topsheet on those 2 I handled in Japan, in which case this is not a new thing. But it does seem striking enough that I would have noticed…

So either someone tell me I am crazy and the escalator has always had a base material topsheet, or, if available, I would love more info about the base-material-as-topsheet model. 😀

p.s.: here is a Pencil Split 164 in action on one of the deepest days last season:

Korua just got back to me to confirm that all Escalators now in stock are the new models with the basematerial topsheet.

Yeah, next year's with the base material topsheet. The earlier topsheet was a more splintery carbon type material.

In love with the thing. I only got to ride it a handful more times after what I last posted, but it was great every single time. Pretty much everything I've been looking for in a splitboard. Waxed the top and it helped enough with spring snow I guess, but I don't have enough days testing that to say really. Nor have I had to patch any ptex yet. Really stoked to get a full season on it though and see how much the weight savings helps longer days. I'd like to try a pair of Arc Pros and really lighten things up.

Has anybody seen the new Transition Finders in the wild? I spoke to Easy Rider and they had a TF57 that came in and has the new specs, but the TF54 they got in is last year's. Both name and spec wise. Curious if it's a supply chain related issue or maybe Korua sending last year's stock to get rid of it.

Thankfully got mine at my local last week. Will be sharing some pics when I can. And I spoke with someone at Korua the past week, also. The site is going thru an update still, so won't see the new TF info yet. And yeah, they still have a bit of the old TF54 and want to offload those. But the new shipments to shops should've been the new one, unless Warren didn't specify when he ordered 🤷🏻‍♂️.

@gd They're supposed to check their warehouse for me today, it's possible the new one didn't get put out if they had stock from last year is what I understood based on the phone call yesterday. Fingers crossed.

I've seen the new ones in the wild. Milo has them. What are you curious about?

What was the deal with the new one again? Less taper?

A little less taper and less setback. I prefer the OG specs myself

@pow_hnd I was just wondering if Korua had issues with getting the new TF54 built or into stores. Lack of info on the website, most online stores showing the old specs, and then Easy Rider not having one in store after getting their Korua shipment made me think that the updated version might have been delayed for some reason or another.

I got confirmation just now however that I had no reason to worry, they do in fact have a new TF54 for me, it was in the warehouse and not on the retail floor.

@peruna So that 's part of what I love about Korua. They don't do the yearly production cycles and they don't do closeouts, so they need to move through the inventory they have before they start putting the new ones out in the wild. Glad they have one for ya. Milo still has a mix of the old version and the new versions.
