New edit of Phil ripping the 2020 the last 3 days in pow. Seems to love it - was on the 420 a lot and wanted a twin.

Minipark laps at the beginning end quick - we were waiting for the chair to come off wind hold on Friday

was trying to place that jazz manouche song at the end and couldnt quite get it till i saw the credits.  have a cd of the comp album with the robert crumb cover art from about 20 years ago in a box somewhere.  good choice btw, really fit the mood.

Thanks! Love Gus Viseur, right vibe for the right time. Was gonna use Swing Valse, but that song was a better “roll credits” sound, hah

wow.  yeah good call.  i agree this fits better.  you're  the only other person i've run into on the internet that knows swing valse.  i'm partial to a fapy lafertin version from what i believe was the mid-90s (and remarkably i cannot find a record of it now) where he basically plays this version but on a guitar.

side note, wasnt clear on the use case for the 20/20 when i looked at it but now i see.

I’m a fan of swing/french swing/gypsy jazz, etc... forget where I came across him, but I think that’s my favorite tune. Also really like Daphne. Their guitar playing is wild to watch! Both those songs are on my list to use for something.

He wants me to try the 2020, but no more twins for me. Shape & pow hull seem to allow for a pretty useful pow twin, though.

Anybody tried the Pro420? Had a 420PH a couple years ago, and it was super fun, but was a deep day only board. Also had a regular 420, but it was way too soft. Wondering if the camber version is more versatile...

I haven't but my YES rep mate echos what you have said- stiffer, much, much better on groomers, better for bumps/crud and yes, quite versatile for a short fatty. Also the 420PH now has camber so its more versatile than the earlier flat versions.

I would get one but i have the Hightide hippy and Offshore sea biscuit which are very similar.

My 420PH was supposedly camber, but it was so minimal, I'd basically call it flat. Wonder if they press it any differently now, a couple seasons later.

Yeah I basically got rid of all my no fishy short fats besides the Hippie. Sea Biscuit is a great one too, rode very similar to the OG JL Short Fat with TT. I almost bought his new PC-renamed "Short Wide" this year, but they downgraded it to a TNT base and that's a hard no.

Oh- which year 420ph did you have? Mine has decent camber. (see Pic)

Maybe you should grab a Pro20 and let us know how it goes? 😉

420ph

Ladies & gents, Phil himself is in the building

I got a couple 7s around in 2008, on my uninc 56 on Lando’s hip, but certainly didn’t look pretty or ride away
