@brtn

It depends.  If you want to ride them (or collect them, if you're into that), then yes. If not, they'll be easy to sell or trade.  Both are desirable boards.

Do boards typically go way up in value though like that Paul's Boutique? Collecting seems so new in terms of a thing

Possibly?  Honestly, that's not my scene, man.  A Beastie Boys fan may give you more than you paid for it down the road, but who knows?

If it were me, and I didn't want to ride it, I would trade it for something I do want to ride.  I don't buy wall hangers, though, and snowboards aren't an investment vehicle for me, so take that for what it's worth.

I bet some knob would pay you retail for the Hyperspace and more for the Paul’s. I got hooked up on both my hyperspaces, thanks @cjs and @angler

Funny that I started this thread by saying one board I wish I could get again is the red fish. Found one, rode it a little, concluded I am a much bigger fan of the 160, and ended up finding both of those as well. Sold the red to a friend.

I guess my one board left is the 2012 goldfish 156

Nothing, really. I don't really develop much of a sentimental attachment to any of the boards I've owned. I've been hesitant to sell a few, but I realize without fail after I sell them I don't think about them. I realized I view them as tools that enable me do what I love, rather than things that I directly love.

The one board I own for sentimental reasons is the 2012 Arbor Coda, with the Dragon Tiger rising sun art. I've never even ridden it, but my Korean name translates to "Dragon Tiger" so I picked one up as wall art.

Don't think I ever posted a picture of the Coda.

The base on this thing is completely fucked. Guy who sold it to me apparently ran into a shark at high speeds in Chile and completely destroyed it. Multiple attempts at repairs, none that stuck. The picture undersells the damage, there's a bunch of wood that's splintering out out that big gash, the ptex actually physically detaches from the base when I flex it.

I'm tempted to try to fix it to see if I can run it as a rock board, but given I mostly want to run it as a wall hanger (and that the fix would probably fail), it's still just sitting in the basement. Looking forward to the day when I have enough wall space to display it proper.

Also I realized since posting the original here that the only board that really comes close to "one that got away" is the Capita Party Shark. I don't especially like Capitas, but this graphic makes me smile every time I see it.
