Lap 2 video, after hiking a different mountain with the dogs. Pretty boring to watch, but this deck is a real fun ride - can’t wait for next season. So stabile. Feels like a tank in the best way. Tail feels a hair stronger than OG squash, although lengthwise flex may be around the same. Torsionally stronger. Width and edge definitely are the big players in it feeling a grip more substantial than a 57.

My girlfriend laid in the sun while I hiked and then filmed me from the parking lot (hence the harsh quality)

Previous hike is more exciting. Wished I had my board and boots with me when we got toward the top and hiked up that steep pitch. There was an easy bootpack already and would have been a real fun pitch to ride a few times.

Those roller-looking hits look like a lot of fun. And glad to hear you're as stoked about that Orbit, as I was. It's a fun tank, def agree.

It’s a keeper for sure. Right up my alley. Still wanna try a tranny finder & pencil but I think I made the right choice.

Sick. Excited to get on my 59 Pencil next winter (hoping all will be relatively okay w/ the current crisis, by then).

Also doing a swap with my bro for last year's 54 T.Finder, curious to see if it rides any different from the first one I got.

Third lap yesterday, but my solo lap plan turned into a little jump session with Mark Rainery after figuratively bumping into each other in the parking lot. Karakoram asked for some freestyley footage of him on the proto solid bindings, which look legit. Cut blocks, filmed some clips, then surfed down. Tunes by Khruangbin.

Did I mention I love this board?

Jump looks really fun, esp in those conditions. Would've loved to try it.

And loll, again, not surprised. Awesome, awesome board.

Yeah, don’t know why it took so long to click.

Nice thing is I can always get another, but OG squash not so much

Next query - do I apply a matte grey wrap like the first one? Or keep it black...

Looking back, had a rough start with it, too. Initially rode it with Falcors and felt way too dead for my taste; was so close to letting it go. Gave it one last chance, all depending on how it rode with my go-to Genies combo ... and the feeling was night and day for me. Instantly became my DD after.

Only reason I sold it was 'cos a close friend wanted it, after falling in love with it just after his first few laps on it. Plus, the EL in me couldn't resist the urge to try other decks on my want list lol.

I loved the board instantly, I just mean why I overlooked the model for so long, especially since I instantly liked the OG cadet and US vibe when they came out (2014?) I probably knew about the orbit for at least a couple years..

I still think B makes great bindings, but totally in love with drives, so this will be the first board I never put Burtons on 😜 they are a great match, granted I don’t like to change my bindings between boards

Nice clip @spenser! That gopro footage is crisp as! Itching to get on my cadet 59 with NOw drives and new Burton straps courtesy of a Burton service hookup! Still would love to try an orbit.. I had a 151 for a hot minute but sold it on.
