I think orbit is the first board I'm gonna take with me once the resort opens. I've been digging the covert split.

What are you down to now Parker? 220-230?

If you're talking about my weight? I was 218lbs on the scale this morn. I was 250-265lbs the last couple seasons.

Damn! You are going at it hard and making me the fatest Orbit owner at EZ still at 225ish evening weight.

@parker would put stiffer bindings on the Orbit. Have MOW Drives on mine and seems like a good fit. Swapped out my Adidas Tactical boots for stiffer new K2 Aspects to break them in. Don't think you need carbon 10/10 stiff bindings but the board definitely prefers input.

Which year are your Tacticals? Got last years Acerras but they made them softer so pretty much the same flex as my older Tacticals. Older Acerras where noticeable siffer than Tacticals.

How do you like the Aspects? Wide enough toebox?

I have 2020 Tactical Lexicons, which are about as stiff as my 2018 Tactical Advs. I have a pair of 2020 Tactical Advs as well as backups since Adidas is peacing out, but I'm a little hesitant since they clearly softened up their later boot lines.

Initial impressions on Aspects is good. First few runs were a little uncomfortable, but no worse than typical new boot break-in. I felt pretty settled into them after a couple hours. They're wide enough in the toe box. They're roomier in the ankle and heel than Adida  though. No major heel lift strapped in with the Boa Condas cranked, but I have a feeling these will pack out a bit and I'll probably need to slap some bootfitting foam on them.

Footprint on them is pretty big, especially with the heel welt. I wear them jn my standard size (10.5 US, I can comfortably wear a 10 in Adidas). I would probably have bought a 10 if I were planning on riding these in the resort and pushed through a few weeks of pain, but I bought them a bit more relaxed to account for swelling up on splitboard tours.

Interesting I feel like my last year acceras feel good on stiffnesses. Def feel stiffer than the black and green tacticals I had. I can't remember how stiff my black and red acceras were only used them a couple times before swapping to step on ions which I never thought they felt stiff.

I have the -17 Tacticals and -20 Acerras. They feel similar in stiffness just walking around. The -18 Acerras where stiffer as I can remember but the feel on snow may be different since I didn't ride them and have yet to try my new Acerras.

I kinda felt what @nmb said about the Horizon feeling dead torsionally, but I’d like to take it down a few real runs before I make a final judgment.

only took it up the rope at Wild Mtn about 4 times on opening day, riding on wet concrete snow.

I take it back, this thing rips.

swapped the Team Forces for my old faithful Falcors I rescued (tbh I might just be done with Forces, although I did enjoy them on the Annex), and had the opportunity to really let her open up. felt like the Café Racer but with more tail & pop. able to really rail big turns, but can squiggle a line real quick-like, too

this’ll probably be my daily driver for smaller resort days.

Short orbit day with dead legs from yesterday, a hangover, and beat up crusting-over leftovers & hard packed/scraped groomers. That was a rough combo, haha.

Enjoyed the cadet yesterday. Thought there might be some risk of exposure, but coulda ridden the orbit. Although, I did uncover a giant rock wall with my edge and ass, when I was getting into position for a shot. I dig it, I could maybe see getting a new one some time. Really nice shape. Could be a little stiffer, but it’s also pretty used.

Pow day on the orbit. This thing is a first-run early season leg drainer, hah. Gotta get warmed up. Things are good now. Super stabile. Definitely rides more like a low-mid 160-something ripper.

Finally got back up a skintrack and took the Covert 161 for a "maiden voyage." Really nice 2-day-settled pow up top, mashed potato at the bottom (heatwave after a week of subzero and 2-3m of snow).

The board is really sweet, tons of fun. Turn initiation is effortless, follow through so smooth. Very happy to have a full camber split. Will most likely be my go-to hiker this season (except for the really deep days; Korua Pencil will still get to feast on those.)

I did allow it to buck me over the horns twice so I'll need to fine tune the stance a bit, and get my quads back in shape.

When I got home I swapped out the Karakoram Ultraclips with Spark Fixies. Seem alright.

First time on actual groomers with the orbit. Sooo good. Love the “sidecut temperament,” a little more open but pretty fun for any type of turn, so long as you have speed. Kinda like a squash on roids. Not a board for going slow. Feels like I can put a little more into it  since it has a longer edge and stiffer torsional flex.

exactly, roids

I don’t “need” the width for my 9s, I don’t get drag on the 255 squash
