Got my 2nd day on snow today, thankfully. First day on the 57 Super 8, and early thoughts are this board is dope. Not as soft as I thought it was gonna be. There is some dece torsional flex, and overall ~6-6.5 flex (if 7 flex = og Korua line). And it's more poppy than I was expecting it to be, enjoyed hitting as many side hits as I could with it.

So far, lots of fun. Stable enough at relative speed for its flex. A fun turning board; for both short or long drawn out turns. Def a strong contender for my DD this winter.

Went with the most inner inserts, which measured at 20.5". Which is pretty much my preferred, ~20.25" stance. +21/0 angles, as per my go-to as well.

I miss my leather ions. They aren’t beat at all, just got a little too soft for me even with tongue inserts. Still the best boot I’ve ever had.

Rode my new black shells yesterday with old liners, still need some wearing in to get rid of little tingles, but at least I have ‘em.

interesting.  on inspection it looks like the camber peaks right at the first set of rear inserts on the 160.  i've been doing back foot on reference x and front foot one set back of reference. i think thats probably 54 cm on the 160.  hadnt thought of moving the rear forward.

Solid 3rd day with the homie @awd1105. Surprisingly good conditions for early szn around here.

Day 4, got 2nd day on the Longo's & new TF54. Finally getting the fit more dialed on the Longo's. It's def stiffer than my super broken in Ion Leathers, so holding off on the stiffeners indefinitely. And not really needing any cranking on the BOA for the ankle, makes it feel too rigid for my preference. Didn't realize I preferred more ankle articulation, til I had the option to have without lol.

Lastly, aside from being relatively better for longer, more drawn out turns, doesn't feel significantly diff from the og version imo. But still early, as well.

I wanna play snowboards with you guys!

Today was ideal. Had over 25” of fresh since last operating day, super stabile (patrol did avy work last 2 days and couldn’t get anything to move), perfect medium weight... cream dream. Rode the hammerhead & it was glorious. Had a couple great shit-eatings under the chair. December 10 looking like February 10 up here.....

Sequence from Jeremy. Dig the first frame posture, but need to turn up the volume for a bigger spray next time

packed powder rope laps at Trollhaugen last night, day 6.

the Take the Rake setup has some beautiful and flowy transitions. I can happily lap the park all day and never actually touch metal 😂.

Horizon was in its element last night finding pockets of powder built up in the transitions to slash.

but also i’d love to play in more than 7” of fresh snow

Finally got to take out this demo 158 Nidecker Donuts from my local. Was pleasantly surprised, had a fun time turning on it. Feels like a relatively mellower Café Racer imo. Classic directional flex, with a touch torsional give/flex. Also felt lighter than I thought it'd feel underfoot, but had good stability at speed either way.

Main downside for me was the pop. It was mediocre, average at best. Though tbf, the camber height is pretty mellow, gotta work a bit to get more boost. But if don't really care for that, solid board for turning. Whether centred or laid-back turns off the back foot, both were enjoyable. It was pretty warm here for a Dec night (2-4°C. Warm all week, actually), so conditions were on the much softer side. But yeah, enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

158: 25.8cm ww/8.3m scr/124cm effective "length"

20.5" stance & +21/+3 angles
