So I guess it wouldn't hurt to have a #COVID-19 thread.
How is it affecting everybody so far?
I'm in UK, I think things might get locked down soon.
I live in Seattle and work in a hospital. Things here are about to get pretty interesting.
Well the dip shit at the White House just made it worse. It’s here in the US and there is no stopping it.
This thing is already fucking the economy and tomorrow it will take a real kick in the balls with these new travel restrictions.
Instead of these stupid plans, the WH should be making plans on how to prioritize treatment for the most vulnerable population, how to identify this population ( people over 50 and smokers seem to be at most risk of death from what I’ve read ) and educate those populations so they get treatment sooner than later and seek out testing/self-reporting sooner than later.
Let the public know they can't live off 300 rolls of TP and to stop buying it ( you can shit without TP, not the most pleasant, but doable ) and to stop buying water, you can boil it.
What the should be using that money for is for non perishable goods in case theY get quarantined or the decide to self-quarantine.
While this is bad, it’s not Ebola for fucks sake...
NBA season just suspended indefinitely
Tom Hanks now has it
Where's that giant meteor we were promised in 2020
Coachella delayed to October, SXSW cancelled
if its in the air... cant we spray some Lysol around ?
just cancelled trip to see our parents back in 'sconnie on Friday, didnt really want to chance taking a flying incubator plane ride and then having even a small chance of being patient zero at my folks' assisted living facility.

See! That’s the kinda smarts/actions people should be taking, not buying TP for the next 3 months
I'm in Seattle as well, and my wife works in a hospital. Things are changing daily but we aren't yet locked in our houses, though now all the schools are closed and people are mostly self-quarantining.
My favorite thing is how I'm learning about how labs here had to sit on viral cultures due to red tape and the CDC not giving them the go-ahead to test, basically delaying our jump on identifying patients. It all started here because one person came back from Wuhan and infected others, many of whom were asymptomatic.
I don't know what the fuck Trump is doing with the travel restrictions from Europe -- it's here and going to spread to every state and community.
Here in Australia all the fking idiots are buying all the TP and fighting in the aisles over it.
I'm in southern cali and same thing here with TP... don't get it... Also don't get the travel ban. @pow_hnd said it, its already here. Still see people out and about, but obviously less than usual. Fear is definitely growing more quickly than actual infections, but it is spreading. And in true EL fashion, just hoping local mountains don't shut down before the natural end of the season :).
Here in Japan, people who go out are all masked up and careful, but in the workplace they seem to forget/not realize that people they know could have it. This week I saw people giving each other tastes of their soup, speaking really close to each other and lots of other small things we would be enough to get infected.
People in general are stupid.
I cannot see anywhere in the symptoms of Covid19 where you start shitting uncontrollably where you will need a car full of TP.. People are just hoarding the stuff and trying to sell it on FB marketplace to make a profit! WTF??
I can’t even buy a 6 pack of the stuff the moment because we are about to run out!
Why don’t people have this level of panic over climate change?
Delta canceled our flights to Japan next week, bummed. In Michigan, all of the major universities have shut down and moved to online classes. I live in Midtown (15 minute walk from downtown Detroit) and generally it's a very bustling area with a lot of foot traffic, it's been a ghost town this week. Almost eerie.
And yep. That orange faced Baffin fucked the economy even more, dow opens to a 2,100 point drop. What a fucking tool. This emergency is really going to show the people that have drank his cool-aide his total incompetence.... When he fucks with their money and the economy, maybe half of them will wake up.
