what could go wrong

Debt based economic systems needing to achieve infinite growth on a finite planet. I see no issue.

Pretty basic economics says that limited resources (or inputs) are not a problem as long as total factor productivity continues to increase. That said at least one of the factors of production (labor) is set to continue to grow as well (given the increasing world population).

Lots of other problems (income and wealth distribution, international tensions/conflicts, access to clean water, pollution of the oceans etc) but the fundamentals for continued growth really should not be an issue.

Hmmm.

im assuming local and federal government paying people to stay home due to a "pandemic" has nothing to do to a returning workforce 🙄 and the oncoming inflation has nothing to do with a trillion dollar " infrastructure " bill .. but ok

Just got apologetic email from shop I ordered some Spark and Karakoram bits from. (I'm in Germany atm.)

"Shipments aren't coming through due to the situation with global shipping."

Was in contact with Spark this week about some heel lockers and they said they likely wont have any until next year.

K. So. How long before we just start swapping 3D printer files for the shit we want?

Multiple rep friends have said they think there is some product that won't make it to shelves until after xmas, maybe even into Feb 1st.

My buddy is the Salomon rep, half of Salomons product made it here mid summer, the rest is stuck in the shipping abyss. He said lots of shops are getting heated, but he's like there's nothing I can do. Most of the product that made it here was low end/price point stuff, with a few sprinkles of higher end stuff.

I have boots and bindings on pre-order from Evo, and I'm not sure if I'll really be getting them... They keep bumping back the ship-by date

would consider staying away from heel lockers unless you have really stiff boots. i use risers for the toe and heel piece and some of the parts on the heel lock just fell off during the first trip, so they werent made for that. with softer or med boots it's just as good to go freeheelin.

A few seasons back my friend and I were out on a split trip following a ridge line and had to ski a drop though a rock field. My buddy caught a rock on his decent and went over the handlebars and broke his hand on another rock. Recently I was talking to him and he mentioned he's been splitting much since that incident, just got sort of spooked about getting injured. I told him lockers may have prevented that and I thought since I was getting those heel cups from Spark for my hoe-made drift boards I'd grab him some heel lockers for a Christmas gift... and, well, that's a no go right now.

i get it, been in some sketchy situations with that stuff. i had to release the lock because i was still going over the handlebars with the heel locked, not fun. but i run with somewhat soft flexing boots, at least the tongue. it would be ideal with unmodded at boots, but meh… most splitboards arent made for skiing descents either, the bindings are attached too far forward.

Fukk Yea brahz... good dealz on last seazonz gear cumming... next year.

furrrealz.

I know a couple of bike shops that were taking preorders on bikes for this summer, a few had to send out emails that customers would be receiving their 2021 bikes maybe by the end of 2022.

On the real, I'm doing all my christmas shopping now before shit gets dumb.

good luck out there! we've had folks coming in all ripping and roaring to get set up on the newnew, trying to beat the rush, and we're just like, cool. new stuff won't be here for another month.

For realz quickest way to get a bike is factory direct from china. I got my custom painted frameset in 3 weeks from order to arrival. I've seen the new Rival electronic shifters going for $1500 on ebay stock price is $400 delays have been gnarly in the bike world since the pandemic started so not much new there. Snow shit backed up is wild though.
