Watching snowboarders that I don't think are particularly good, do things that I can't do really bums me out.  For example, TJ from SnowboardProCamp/Board Archive, can do a handful of rail tricks that I can't, and on features that I no long want to hit.

#fragile ego

note: I don't mean to talk shit about the guy- he's a fine rider.  I guess I just don't think he has any style and looks kinda whack when he does most things.  Personal preference/opinion.

It also weirds me out when people that look totally uncomfortable on a board can do/have a big bag of tricks. Its a matter of what you are practicing i guess.

Prime example of what i describe is this video

from the three people that ride (3:00 minute mark on) and leaving style out of it only the guy with the puffy jacket seems to ride his board and not have the board take him for a ride.

I think I love AB too much for anything to ruin it.

Me too.  Just bothers me enough to rant about it for a minute.

It's starting to bother me more...

This isn't Nico type shit...

Basically, Grandkoski seems to think that COVID 19 is some sort of "deep state" conspiracy.  While he himself has never stated such directly, he has re-posted some things promoting that idea that that COVID is a part of some larger conspiracy attempting to aid in the creation of a "new world order," in which there is a "global governing body" hell bent on eliminating civil liberties.

So, there isn't any sort hate, bigotry, racism or the like happening here.  Just what I consider to be some bat crazy shit.

I care, for whatever reason.  Viscerally, this shades my feelings toward AB.   But should it?  Should I care?  Should this effect my purchasing decisions?  Maybe I'm being an overly analytical, judgmental dick.  IDK...

I read that as Heli Skiing Pass Offered Through Hell.

And it made more sense to me that way too.

stumbled across this 22 year old article (1998) from a marketing trade magazine that i found amusing.  didnt know where to leave it.  marketing to aging snowboarders is already a very old idea.

ARBOR SNOWBOARDS SIGNS SURFING ICON: MICKEY MUNOZ SIGNATURE LINE GOES FOR AGING GEN XERS

Arbor's business plan hinges on the maturing of the extreme sports consumer. The stereotype is young punk, late teens or early 20s. But snowboarders are growing up.

Not that any of you really care, but I missed this place and snowboarding. I didn't get to ride at all this past season because I got hired by a fire department south of Seattle. The long and short of it is we had to go thru EMS academy, fire academy, and starting in June we were put on a 1 year probation. So if I get injured, or I fail to meet department expectations, I am cut.

The Covid outbreak shook our academy up and we were placed on hold. In February my fellow recruits and myself were in the Tacoma Dome doing mass, drive up testing. Eventually we were able to split our class up, and continue our academy in a "new normal" fashion.

Since June I have been a member on a engine company and have been running calls. I love it. Every single day is different, and I have already had calls where we have made a difference. It sounds cliché, but it is quite rewarding to serve the community in a meaningful manner.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am hoping to get a few more than zero days in this coming winter.

Excellent and it's great to see you have priorities, and now a career.
