I like to think that graphics and colorways don't impact my gear purchasing, but it does. And I think I lie to myself about how much it actually does sometimes.

My personal stance is I'll never a buy a board for great graphics*. I will definitely not buy a board because of awful graphics.

I have been tempted to break that first part a couple times. The Kazu series is consistently sick. And I have zero interest in the Party Shark shape, but that thing makes me laugh every single time I see it. I'm not sure if I'd display it topsheet out for that ridiculous sunglass party shark or go hard with the "FUCK YEAH BRO!" base.

* One exception is a broken Arbor Coda I bought for a wallhanger. Besides being a dope ass graphic, this one has some personal significance to me. My Korean name translates to "Dragon Tiger".

Arbor graphics pretty often are wall hang art on their own. This one I had was a purchase heavily influenced as a complimentary wall hanger to a similar Iguchi print I have. Ultimately it didn't fit in my riding bag (why do I cringe at the term board quiver) and I let it go.

⬆️ This. Like, for me personally, I could never buy any Never Summer, ever. Period.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve really came to the less is more preference. Like, Korua with nothing for graphics , and US Shapes with almost nothing for graphics is my jam these days.

Even the, greatest to me graphic deck I’ve ever owned, second year Burton Custom 59, have now grown tired to me. It holds an emotional/sentimental spot in my life, but I wouldn’t want to ride those graphics today, I feel like the simplicity of Korua and US Shapes stay timeless and I won’t tire of.

These are some of my favorite graphics. Not claiming all time. But... I really dig these.

First and second year Burton Barracudas are probably my favorite graphic of all time.

The board doesn't really appeal to me (too soft), but that minimalist topsheet with the totem base is my jam.

I had that white barracuda. I don't think I ever rode it.

Def. Aside from shredding, footy is my other love. Enjoy Spanish football the most (though, the EPL is most competitive ngl), so usually root for Spain in the tourneys. Crazy last day of matches today!

Belgium looking real good, esp with KDB almost back to 100%. Italy "quietly" dominating, too. Great summer of footy that's for sure, esp with Copa America happening, as well. Helps with the off-szn blues.

I’ve got France and Italy as favorites this year, with Belgium, the perennial dark horse that it is, not far behind.

Germany : England on Tuesday should be a slo mo slugfest, neither team has found their flow yet but let’s see, we might be in for a surprise.

If this weather is the new normal, we're going to need to also normalize guys wearing skirts.
