I’d assume his contract just ran out and he decided not to renew it and pursue other things.

Austin’s super open and honest in everything I’ve heard from him, I’d take his statement that he just wants to try new things at face value. TNF & Smith are both probably paying the majority of his bills already, he’s already on evo, don know what that’s about.

curious if Bryan will stay on and continue the Quiver series.

my guess is he lands on one of the big shape makers: US, Korua, Moss, Gentem...

If Austin went US that would be sick. Like I said before I wonder if that is whey they didnt push the quiver shapes next year its all carry over besides the revamped slash. But i wonder if Austin leaving influenced that?

maybe? Bryan is still on board though. 90% of shots I’ve seen of both of them have been on the Banker this season, could be they just settled on a few shapes they really liked after almost ten years and stuck with them.

I wonder if we will see even more of a shaping influence if in fact he is going back to K2. They don’t have anything currently that I quite want to buy, but I really like their boards. SP56 is clearly “my” style, but not high enough on my list..

I don't care about what pros are doing. thats just a money thing for them.

if i care it probably has something more to do with consumer behavior, or goofy tech things, trends, subjective reviews etc

idk, K2 seems pretty set in their Simple Pleasures/Party Platter combo for shapes since they’ve had those two for close to five years now, i think(?) but maybe that means they’re due for a shape overhaul.

Same here w/ their current lineup.  Obviously curious about the new Alchemist, but generally nothing in their line really appeals or would rate high in the "misty must have list".

If K2 did start some sort of shaping program, would be a bit hard to rate it against what the quiver series threw out there.  Can't say anyone else had a 203cm cannon shape...

K2 already has Tim Eddy's "shaping program", the Enjoyer line. Cool Bean, Simple Pleasures, Party Platter, and Overboard. For 2020 they even had all had the same topsheet motif... and apparently this weird fucking matching bear lego thing. They haven't pushed it as far as Nitro with 203 cm swallowtails, but they pushed it way further than most of the big snowboard players.

Totally missed that.  Those have been around for like 4 or so seasons and just assumed it to be part of their normal lineup.  I had an Ultradream split that I unloaded a few seasons back and never really looked at K2 since.

They definitely have been doing the shaping thing for a while, I just wonder if Austin joining would bring anything new to the table.
