Bridger Bowl had a similar event 2 years ago when a guy who was a local ski bum got super drunk and bought some beer to go at the ski hill bar and then crashed his car, killed himself and a lady who was driving up the hill to go to work. sad shit, they charged the bar owner and his daughter who was working and sold to the guy. Alcohol has a bad reputation with shredding and with beer companies sponsoring ski movies its not going to change.

in the Republic of Georgia where they start drinking homemade vodka and pumping out russian disco hits all before 10 am, someone got drunk on the hill and then crashed into a person which resulted in a death. now they have on hill cops who cant ski patrolling the resorts. they also have lifts that spin in reverse.

Is it just me or that kind of laws seem completely stupid. I mean if someone shoots his wife/kids/neighbor/local school/whoever with a legally purchased firearm do you also press charges against the gun shop owner that sold him the gun???

I've never understood people who drive when blackout drunk.

I get it when people try to drive super slowly and carefully the morning after, and get pulled over by suspicious cops and breathalyse with a blood alcohol that's over the limit (but haven't hurt anybody).

If it's illegal to sell alcohol to a person who is visibly intoxicated then the alcohol was not sold legally. If they sold her booze after recognizing she was so drunk they tried to convince her to let them drive her home, and didn't call the cops the minute she left, they're absolutely complicit in the death of those 2 people.

At least they have the privilege of being in the Colorado legal system where their innocence is presumed. As opposed to Oregon where with the OLCC (Oregon Liquor Control Commission) all it takes is an anonymous tip you violated a law and you are guilty until you prove your own innocence in their own court. Literally, if somebody falsely calls their tip line and says "I saw X serve a minor" you lose your server's permit until you prove the thing that didn't happen didn't happen.

Clearly different scenarios anyway. The alcohol equivalent of the gun thing would be selling to a sober person, and then blaming the clerk or liquor store for something the person did later when drunk. Obviously we don’t do that. Selling to someone who is obviously very drunk already, and not doing anything about it when they drive away (or try to), is simply different, and they hold some of the accountability. Hard to say what the gun equivalent would be, but something like selling to someone who is clearly in a mental state where they effectively show you they might do something bad with it.

Being guilty until proven innocent, bearing the burden of proof as the accused. That is fucked up on so many levels.

Imagine having to that kind of power to really start ruining people's lives. The whole metoo shit was a swing towards this direction in how people perceive justice. Fucking media and social platforms. Not that I'm sympathetic towards any real assholes, but personal responsibility for fucks sake.

Did you really just say that the victims of sexual abuse are responsible for that abuse? Delete your bookmarks for this site and fuck all the way off.

No. He just says that social media and all the SJWs think that the one who is accused is always guilty when a (alleged) sex abuse case surfaces. And he is right on that.

Its a completely fucked up logic. The same(ish) as the liquor control thing in oregon.

Based on what was written about her not displaying signs of being drunk at work but then staggering a short time alter at the liquor store, in my mind I'm thinking that between the two places there might have been something like a pharmaceutical taken. Just pure speculation.

The article also stated that witnesses said the store clerks and the girl seemed to know each other, and I expect that contributed to their offer to drive her home, but also that they did sell her the alcohol and then didn't call the cops on her. It's a shitty situation to be put in by a friend.

Let’s not forget what a piece of shit Angry snowboarder has been for such a long time. There are countless posts of him telling people to drink bleach and all kinds of crazy shit on the other site. If you are angry about snowboarding then stop fucking doing it. Karma is a motherfucker.

I think of him a complete loser more than a piece of shit. In many ways like Doc here:

Both pretty much failed to accomplish anything in the 'real world' (one is in his late 30's and working part-time in a liquor store, the other is fucking chiropractor calling himself a doctor).
Both are mediocre (at best) riders but look down on and berate other people.
Both present themselves as insiders/'part of the industry, while in reality they are barely endured (even tolerated is too strong a word) by the snowboard community just because they have been around for a long time and we have kind of gotten used to them.
And both continue to spew hate and vitriol and resort to ad hominem attacks, because they are desperate attention whores with massive inferiority complexes who think that they are bigger when they cut others down.

Really, they are sad and pathetic more than offensive or pieces of shit.

@sgboarder

Seems kinda personal, guessing there's a story behind it.
