Your Worst Injury?
Overshot and scorpioned a landing... back was surprisingly okay, but it resulted in a concussion and three broken ribs, one of which punctured a lung.
Broke my humerus on a separate occasion.

Nothing very serious or violent. Dislocated shoulder in 2009, partially in 2013, and did it again at the end of last season.. was riding carefully after maybe 10 days the two times it fully dislocated.
Partially torn MCL + fractured top corner of tibia in January 2011, out for the season.
My knee has been totally fine, like nothing ever happened, but I don’t do any upper body exercise and am lazy about PT, so the shoulder sucks. I could make it a lot better with a little effort 🙄 Will most likely get surgery at some point.
Dislocated ring finger a couple years ago skating, put it back together on the spot. The slam I took was probably the most violent part of any of my injuries.. fun one.
Not my worst but certainly my most memorable was early on mid 90's, when I was a poor ass inexperienced skater punk and wasn't a very skilled rider. My buddy and I were "riding" super icy groomers on a super cold ass night and it sorta sucked so we're bored and looking for something to do so we start cutting off the groomers (a big no no around here back in the day) just to find something interesting to ride. So we're doing that a little bit and we're feeling pretty cool breaking the rulz maaannnn... pretending to be good cuz we're going off the runs and catching 6 inches of air on the lip of the groomer edge coming back (there were no jumps or board park most places back in the day). Each time trying to outdo the last time and kinda pushing our weak ass skills... which is how you get better, right? Yeah. So we're starting to have some fun and each time go a little faster, riding "close" the the trees and trying to get "big fat air" and shit. lol. And it's sorta competitive too so I'm flying down this groomer (Which, thinking back idk if I was flying. In my head I was going pretty fast, but it's either I was going too fast for my skill level, or in actuality I wasn't going fast but I thought I was. Who knows at this point.) and I cut off the groomer not knowing at all where I was going. Like I had NOT scoped this out. At all. So I blindly just cut off and it just drops down about 3 feet and at the bottom is a big pipe for pumping water up to the snow makers. In my memory this pipe is 8 to 12" diameter. I have no clue if that's accurate, but that's how I remember it. So I'm headed down right at this thing and I know this is bad because my board is pointed down the drop and I need to somehow pop up to get over this it, which... that. isn't. happening. I'm just not good enough. The pipe is too big for me to know how to pop over. So I basically just panic and try to kickout and fall back on my ass at the same time hoping to somehow stop before I crack into this big ass pipe and bust it or something idk. I know that if I hit it it'll be bad and probably make a huge noise and, best case scenario is ticket is getting cut and I'm done.
But... and here's where it gets interesting... unbeknownst to me... hidden under the snow cover is a cut off little tree and because I kicked / sat back the base of my board (basically turned horizontal flying forward at this point) glanced off the top of this tree nub (probably about 2.5 - 3" diameter) and kicked up my board with my ass coming down and with all my speed and all my weight I hit that tree stump about 1 inch to the right of my asshole. Stopped me dead. Like a carcass bouncing on the pavement.
I think I silent screamed for a good long while.
And then I shook. My whole body shook.
And after a while I could sort of move, so I dragged myself to the edge of the run hoping no one saw. And then, as soon as I could stand, hoping to not attract attention (snowboarders already were unwelcome, I didn't need to give hills any more reason to crack the whip at us. They already enjoyed it too much.) I tried to ride the rest of the way down best I could while the burning made my knees weak and my legs tremble. And then we went to the car and left. After a day I had a huge, gross, dark purple blue green yellow bruise from my ass down the back of my leg. I probably pooped blood, but idk. I wasn't smart enough to pay attention to that sort of thing back then.
And that's the story of how I nearly took a small tree stump up my anus. Or lost my ability to have kids. But didn't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe later I'll write up the story of how I once knocked myself out cold snowboarding.
Edits: For all sorts of reasons.
I consider myself lucky with no major ones. Hit ice on my toe side and took the whole fall on my face, shattered my nose, bell run, got to ride down on the sled. Could have been much worse. I’ve definitely tweaked a knee a few times, I think if I did an MRI there would be something torn partially, but it holds up ok. Shouts for no big injuries this season!
exactly 1 year ago I tore my meniscus in half (didn't have enough speed to clear a 30' step-up jump, landed on the face, was basically ice) - loud pop, no pain but couldn't bend my knee
- had reconstructive surgery, out for 6 months, 9 months of hard rehab
started snowboarding a couple weeks ago.
Ever since my first or second snowboarding trip as a middle schooler in like '97, I've had a periodic popping sensation in my left ear. Like the kind of popping you get when you're in an airplane or underwater. I definitely took some jerry falls and scorpions learning to ride, but I don't remember any serious injuries. I noticed the popping on the drive down with my parents and it just never went away. I've had multiple ENTs take a look and they say everything looks fine. At this point I've had it longer than I haven't, and barely notice it. I actually forgot it was an issue until just now.
I took a pretty bad concussion and lost the ability to form new memories for about 9 hours in 07-08. I assume it was from a gnarly fall, but none of my friends saw the wreck and I obviously don't remember. Apparently I took a couple more runs before my friends noticed and I got the sled ride down.
I fractured a rib in 06-07-- THAT sucked.
In general, I've been really lucky avoiding catastrophic injuries (knock on wood).
